Since March 2021, the ePlanning Change and Engagement team has been travelling across NSW providing support to regional councils in preparation for the final phase of the Premier’s mandate of ePlanning Digital Services.

The team started in Broken Hill and has worked with 60 regional councils and dozens of private certifiers and industry bodies.

The regional roadshow was concluded at Lennox Head in late May, with 122 of the 128 NSW Councils now onboarded and using the NSW Planning Portal's services.

As per the Premier's mandate of ePlanning Digital Services, from 1 July 2021 all regional councils and certifiers in those local government areas will be processing 100 per cent of their planning applications through the NSW Planning Portal.

Digital Transformation, Performance and Reporting Executive Director Gino Cavallaro, said the training initiative had been well received across the state.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to all regional councils for their patience and hard work in participating in this crucial stage of the digitisation of the NSW planning system,” Mr Cavallaro said.

“My team looks forward to continuing engagement with each council to ensure the ePlanning Digital Services meets the ongoing needs of all our stakeholders.”
