Mod 13 - Mine Life Extension

The Cowal Gold Operation has proven it can operate safely, efficiently and above all within compliance to environmental regulations and social obligations as major employer of this region. Further continuation of the operation will secure jobs for employees and contractors who live and work within the community and the surrounding region. The environmental assessment for the modification has indicated that current management practices will continue to be implemented to minimise potential impacts on the environment and the near neighbours. For these reasons, I support the proposed modification to the Cowal Gold Operations.

I am pleased to hear about the life Extension of the Cowal Gold Mine on a professional and personal note.
Our community has benefited from the mine in the past and will continue to do so in the future creating a positive feeling with in the local community.

Without Cowal Gold Mine, West Wyalong would deteriorate from the moment the workers down tools. Our businesses will shut and the cash flow through the town will come to a holt. I'm a local born and bred here and I would love to see my kids stay here as well. The mine creates greater chance to keep the younger generation staying here and not forcing them to seek employment out of town when they don't want. this is extremely important in small rural communities.
