I strongly object the Burrendong Wind Farm project due to the following reasons:

- 600+ hectares of bushland are set to be bulldozed which will destroy the habitat for koalas and other native email
- The running of the turbines will be a danger to wedgetail eagles and glossy red tailed black cockatoos which will most likely disappear from the The World’s End Ridgeline
- Due to the rocky landscape, the noise created by the wind turbines will echo & travel through the valleys and impact the community living in the area
- The flashing lights of the turbines will also impact the people living in this area
- The World’s End Ridgeline will lose it's value as a scenic feature of the region

I trust you will consider my submission regarding this project.

Thanks

I strongly object to the Burrendong Wind Farm. I moved here due to my MS ( Multiple sclerosis). I don't deal with stress and noise very well. I have improved in my health while I been living here but if the wind farm do come here, I'll be going backwards in my health.

Good Afternoon,
As a property owner living in Hargraves I object to the Burrendong Wind Farm,

My family and I believe that this project will have a severe impact on the environment and the natural surroundings of Hargraves,
I object to the Burrendong Wind Farm Especially the turbines closest to us 67,68,69, and 70.

These are the main turbines that will impact us the most and don't want them near us,

Views from all over my property will be ruined, the health and safety of my family will be at risk,
the living conditions will change for the worse, the value of our properties will decrease significantly - Where is the compensation plan to compensate residents that will be forced to live with wind turbines if this project is approved?

And just a reminder that a Hall of Fame award was presented to Mudgee, in recognition of its outstanding achievement in being crowned winner in the Top Tourism Town category at the NSW Top Tourism Awards in 2021 and 2022, and receiving the Australian Top Town Tourism Award in 2021 and 2022.

Has council/town of planning considered the long term damage to the area - Where Mudgee and the surrounding suburbs will be labelled 'A Wind Farm Town',

This project is headed to do more damage than good.

Yarrabin currently enjoys Bortle Class 2 skies and has what is often described as some of the best clear skies for astronomy in NSW. As an avid astronomer, the installation of the wind turbines will destroy the dark skies that I rely upon due to the permanent lighting on all turbine masts. This means that astronomical imaging will not be possible at the very least, to the South any longer. The true impact will not be felt until they are installed, but based on this potential risk alone, it is critical that I object to the project.
In addition to this, the uninterrupted skyline of the Worlds End range that we look upon from our deck will be permanently changed.
I will no longer be able to advertise as an attractive destination for amateur astronomers to visit as the visual amenity will be drastically changed for the worse.
I cannot speak of the ecological impact as this is not my area expertise but from the papers I have read it would appear that there will be severe impacts.
As my property in Yarrabin was purchased for it's visual amenity, if the wind farm is installed on the Worlds End range, a decrease in value of approximately 30% - 50% is assumed.

The residents of the area will be unfairly impacted and the development will adversely impact the fauna or the area as well as the serenity, peace and atmosphere of the local area without sufficient benefits to the population either locally or as a whole. These wind farms are being raised in an area that is inappropriate and damaging to the environment without the implied benefits they are supposed to attain.

I object to rural Australia being littered with 'renewable' energy projects that are not as green as they make out.
I object to the clearing of trees and vegetation and the destruction of habitat for native wildlife.
I object to the impact this will have on the surrounding district, the impact on non host landholders in the nearby vicinity and the strain it will place on already strained resources in rural areas.
These projects need to be built closer to where the power is required.

I am not sure what a submission looks like, and I have never read a submission in any form but the following statements are as accurate and as honest as they come.

I have had the fortunate opportunity to spend the last two decades (until covid-19) visiting 167 Rockford Lane, Yarabin. I would say I have extensively explored, hunted, fished and fossicked on this property an average of twice a year over that time after being invited to many various family gatherings and celebrations by the owners. This part of the world has generations of family and friends engrained deep within its fabric and it is obvious to anyone who visits this area.
The times spent on this property somehow were often more fantastic than other holidays due to the fact there is no mobile phone service, no electricity and limited amenities which meant time for more important things...being detached from Sydney life, in my opinion, even for a few days is 100% essential for one's well being and that cannot ever be denied. 167 Rockford Lane, Yarabin offers visitors a welcomed escape from the crazy world we live in and so much more.... So why would you put 250 meter windmills along the skyline in this isolated place, an extraordinarily scenic ridge line in this absolutely tranquil valley. This is so absurd that one wonders what is going through the mind of wind farm planners who seem to have zero vested interest in this project.
After seeing these completely unrealistic, and topographically inaccurate montages I feel sickened to the core.... I wonder if this is in my country's best interest?......Is this project helping the local communities and local flora and fauna?
This project will have such profound irreversible effects on this valley that if it does go ahead I will be disheartened.
This project must never be allowed to go ahead.

P.S. Think of this.... In all the years that the owners of 167 Rockford Lane, Yarabin have resided here, with 100's or maybe 10000's of guests, a million laughs and endless singing....and not one bit of electricity infrastructure has ever been required??

I am emailing you to submit my objection to the Burrendong Wind Farm Proposal. I am a full time resident of my property Warra Park in Hargraves, part of the original Killawarra, which also includes my home, the original Killawarra Cottage.

I object the entire project as a whole as it is a farce, an eyesore on an area of outstanding natural beauty, with significant agricultural heritage and importance, an absolute fire hazard in an area of scrubland so remote it would only be accessible by aerial firefighting. This has given me and my family nights of stress and anxiety thinking about the drastically increased risk of fire in this harsh terrain.

I specifically request the removal of turbines 67,68,69 and 70 which nearest my property of which I will be able to see and hear from all areas of my property. This will cause significant noise polluition, and eyesore, increased fire risk, as well as decreasing the value of my property. I have received an independent valuation of my property this year and will be seeking remedies if the value of the property were to decrease as a result of the wind turbine project.

I also note, that our home is not included in the report as it has not included homes or dwellings that were built before the introduction of DA's. I find this extremely concerning that me and my family are being overlooked as the result of living in 110 year old historic home of Hargraves. I request that my home be reincluded in the report. I have included a photo of our historic home.

I also note that I have not see or been offered the results of the photomontage which was produced on my property. I specifically provided access to my property on the basis that I was to be provided with a photomontage. At this point I believe to have been deceived and tricked into providing access to my property by Ark Energy.

I object to this proposal as it will be destructive to the environment and destroy the stunning views from my brother and sister-in-law’s farm that we visit regularly with our family.

This project will take the whole experience away from enjoying this property. We had no idea how much destruction in the building and maintaining wind turbines would have on the bush until my brother started educating us on the ill effects.

We have experienced an abundance of birdlife – up to 10 eagles at once flying above the property, heard koalas calling - this would be sinful for it to be destroyed.

Right where these turbines are listed below – this is within a couple of hundred metres of our favourite camping and picnic spot with 360 degree views over our beautiful countryside.

We hope the department sees the destruction this will have on their farm outlook and reject the project or at least remove the closest turbines to them 67, 68, 69 and 70.

I thank you for your consideration in my objection.

My objection is the view as I have been visiting that area for over 10 years and to obstruct that beautiful view would be deplorable
Also my love of nature and the animals affected by the blades ( dead birds ) and the noise as animals have a much more sensitive hearing and the effects are still not known.

I am writing to you today to make my strong objection to the Burrendong wing farms.Myself and my family have lived in the Wellington, Dubbo area most of our lives.Burrendong has been a key area for most of the township of Wellington ,Dubbo ,Orange ,and Mudgee areas for Tourism for many years since its construction began in 1958. As well as recreational the dams purpose has been flood mitigation, irrigation, water supply and hydro electric power. So why the need for wind farms. As of December 2022 water NSW has stated the hydro electric plant is in planning stage. Why not use tax payers money to beautify the area instead and put towards the hydro electric scheme .The wind turbines are dangerous and an eye sore to our beautiful Burrendong Dam landscape of hills and farm land . Going out there its an incredible sight its is a beautiful place and I know for a fact people in the area would like to keep it that way for future generations .Wind turbines have a reputation of catching on fire and destroying local bird life, costing an absolute fortune as well as the big problem that no-one in government seems to be mentioning is that they cannot be recycled what so ever , the blades and parts are being buried in farm land , that should be used for exactly that farm land !! How is this green energy !!! it's the exact opposite . Green energy is such a farce, the projects cost tax payers a fortune it can't be recycled and energy costs are the most expensive they have ever been !! I urge you to think about what Burrendong Dam would look like with 70 wind turbines hugging the beautiful landscape and how is this going to impact our children's future . What about pollution into the water ways and aquifers in the area as well as the soil . This is absolutely insane . Thank you for your time and I hope all these projects get abolished

As the owner of a property at worlds end rd, Worlds end nsw 2850 I object to the wind farm proposal due to the visual impact and property value decrease as I would see 4 of the windmills from my property and destroy the peaceful tranquillity of my valley and the habitat of numerous wildlife. Windmills less than 2km from my property.

I am vehemently opposed to the windfarm in the Burrendong area (and any area) for many reasons including:
Disruption to wildlife and their habitats endangering many different species
Increased risk of bushfires in an area already of concern
Significant risk to the environment and citizens from exposure of toxic Bisphenol on these turbines
The unpleasant sight of the turbines as opposed to the beauty of existing natural surroundings
There is currently nowhere in Australia to recycle these abominations at the end of their short life span
The detriment of the removal of our trees
I strongly urge you to reconsider any attampte to further these plans

I am the farm manager for property Warra Park at Hargraves.

I object to the whole project and specifically turbines 67, 68, 69 and 70 which back onto the property.

I object to the entire project on the following points:

Visual impact to the untouched natural landscape
Noise pollution in one of the quietest places I've visited in NSW
Impact on wildlife specifically large birds of prey - very special place
Fire hazard, if these things set on fire then there is very little that can be done to protect or save the surrounding properties including Warra Park with the worst case scenario being loss of life..

In my opinion these outdated low output feel good to inhabitants of inner city suburbs forms of power generation have no place in such pristine Australian native animal habitats.

Reasons: I am an in principal objector to any destruction of priceless native bushland. In this particular case we are familiar with and have stayed on properties in the immediate area over a number of years and given the struggles natives have dealing with pigs, foxes, cats, dogs and deer, it is very disturbing that hundreds of hectares of what little remains is being destroyed literally ‘at the stroke of a pen’. Why should we be destroying habitat that has existed for millenia simply in order to achieve particular targets that have been arrived at in an airconditioned office?

I first saw Wind Farms in Holland in the mid 1970’s. I thought they were magnificent. Living next to them over time is, however, not so pleasant as countless reports indicate. I’m not making it up, it’s all true.

I have major issues with digging up yet more habitat in order to recreate an already existing power grid. It’s effectively doubling up enormous destruction on the small pockets of undamaged landscape we still have – and this is just to carry power, not even making way for the generators of it.

The economic cost of rebuilding a power grid carries it’s own environmental cost as well.

As for the generators themselves, it is completely disingenuous to rip up environmentally sensitive landscape in order to put very unenvironmental and enormous fibreglass/composite propellers that in short order will themselves have to be disposed of.

Giants rotating scythes scattered around the last habitat of birdlife is another example of non-environmental environmentalism.

In particular, this development’s turbines of 65-75 (approximately) are in an area of known Koala habitat. I only mention Koala’s in particular because of the sensitivity with which they are viewed, but make no mistake, rendering any animal homeless while literally tilting at windmills is unreasonable in the extreme! How can this destruction be wrought upon helpless wildlife in the name of being ‘environmental’? It is an absurd notion and future generations should not be burdened with yet another knee jerk solution to a major issue.

The last thing any country (let alone our country) needs is another NBN debacle – it was openly suggested at the time the technology was likely to be outdated in short order and so it proved to be. Let’s not force technology in any particular direction, but allow market forces to create an efficient pathway. Subsidies for anything are expensive financially and ecologically. Projects such as this are nation changing. Change can be good, but ruthless destruction for very little benefit – if any, is merely destruction for it’s own sake.

Surely we have destroyed enough in almost 250 years? Isn’t it about time we stopped wrecking the place and started fixing it?

I strongly object to this going ahead since the World’s End Ridgeline is of high value to me and this project will destroy:
- the expansive views from all over these properties
- the ability to experience peace and quiet and a closer connection to God whilst there
- the serenity which is the reason for going there
