Lets keep jobs in the Hunter - if i lose my job im going overseas and taking my degrees with me

The HVO Continuation Project Amendment will support local jobs, the local economy and community by extending mining using existing infrastructure.

I support the HVO South Open Cut Coal Continuation Project, I believe it will have a significant impact on employment within the region, through both direct and indirect jobs. The approval of this project will protect the existing 1500 local direct jobs, and create over 600 temporary jobs during various construction projects. On average the existing HVO site spends >$500m with over 700 Suppliers and in 2021 delivered a total of $862m in direct economic benefits. HVO make positive contributions to the local communities in which they operate by way of displaying a genuine commitment to employing local employees, engaging with local suppliers, and through numerous donations and sponsorship's that benefit Hunter Valley communities. I fully endorse HVO's application for the HVO North and South Continuation Pojects.

This extension will benefit both the community and the lively hoods of people within this area, providing jobs and increased income for the area which will in turn benefit small and local businesses

I am a current employee of Hunter Valley Operations and wish to express my strong support for the approval of the HVO Continuation Project.

HVO provides employment for more than 1,500 people and makes a significant contribution to the local community, businesses, and economy. The continuation of operations will ensure ongoing employment, which provides myself and my family with stability, security, and the opportunity to continue enjoying the quality of life we are fortunate to have in this region.

Beyond the personal impact, the project is vital for sustaining local jobs, supporting small businesses, and maintaining community investment that benefits schools, sporting clubs, and other initiatives across the Hunter Valley. Approval of the continuation project will help secure long-term economic and social benefits for our community.

The Hunter Valley is a mining community, that would struggle to exist without coal mines. HVO is a major employer for the area employing thousands of direct employees, and indirectly the employees working for companies providing supporting services. It is critical HVO remains in operation until realistic and achievable plan can be formulated to transition the people (and families) linked to HVO's employment into alternative roles or industries. Currently that plan does not exist to the scale required, and the closure of HVO would have a devastating effect for the local communities.

I work for a contracting company on site at HV operations. Employment through this company is the reason I moved to the Hunter Valley from Mudgee in 2020, Through the income I make from my employment on site at HVO I'm able to own a home in the region and spend my income supporting local businesses around the region. Mining is the lifeblood of the Hunter Valley and maintaining it in an ecologically sustainable manner for a longer period is going to keep the local economy thriving.

I support the project as I am a worker at the mine, and I value the contributions the mine makes to the local community while providing jobs to over a thousand people in the area.

I wish to express my support for HVO's continuation project. HVO directly supports my family and I. The continuation also supports around 1,500 ongoing jobs, including apprenticeships and construction roles, sustaining local employment.

I support the HVO continuation project. HVO is a vital part of the hunter valley and national economy and is a major contributor to the local communities. They operate responsibly and provide direct employment to over 1500 people including over 40 apprentices which is helping to address a major trades skills shortage whilst helping local young people start a meaningful career with world class training.

I wish to formally register my support for the HVO North and HVO South Continuation Projects. I believe that these proposals offer significant benefits to the Hunter Valley region—especially through job retention, economic stability, and regional services support.

The continuation supports around 1,500 ongoing jobs, including apprenticeships and construction roles, sustaining local employment.
- It preserves indirect support for local businesses—mining services, contractors, and supply chains—with economic contributions exceeding $1.5 billion in 2022 alone and over $4 billion NPV in benefits.

The project makes a significant contribution to the community. To discontinue the project would mean the destruction of the local economy and community as a whole.

HVO is required for the prosperity of the Hunter Valley. The jobs provided and opportunities supplied are imperative for the success of the Hunter.

Hunter Valley Operations is an integral part of the mining industry and the Hunter Valley. Supporting over 1500 jobs it was be a major loss to the region.

This project will secure my and my families financial future. So that we are living off government benefits.

This project is a very valuable additional to the hunter valley. HVO employs a large amount of people both directly and indirectly. These people have families and spend money in the community helping the Hunter grow. HVO itself contributes widely to the Hunter Valley with its charitable donations and community projects. Even though it may be indirectly, people just passing through the Hunter are able to enjoy the benefits HVO provides.

I work at this mine and the continuation project would see me through to retirement.
