HVO North Open Cut Coal Continuation Project

I support the project, as I believe mining is important to the Hunter Valley, we have very little other industry due to our weak government. I would like the EPA and regulator to hold HVO to account if they fail to meet dust, noise or other restrictions. As HVO currently have a reactive approach to dust management in particular, rather than a pro-active to stay ahead of it before huge dust clouds are being blown around.

I live in Singleton and Work at HVO and the continuation is important to me for the ongoing support it provides my community, the excellent personal and professional opportunities I recieve through working at HVO and due to the vibrant culture that I enjoy at my work place.

I have lived in the Hunter Valley my entire life 56 yrs, my family has been involved in the mining industry for over 40 years. I began work at HVO in 1986,my one did his apprenticeship here too beginning in 2011.
This mine is critical in keeping the Hunter Valley a vibrant and growing community.

This project directly impacts singleton & the wider Hunter valley, nothing in the mining process changes with this project, I fully support this project and hope to be working here for years to come

Supports alot of local jobs and keeps me and heaps of others employed for nearly the next 20 years.
Keeps the NSW economy ticking.

Due to high cost of living, I'm supporting the project for me family and local communities to be able to continue to work and earn income.

‘Everyone knows someone that works at HVO’ Have said this for years and shows just how important HVO is to our local area. I have family that are suppliers to hvo, I have friends that work at the port and rail that handles our coal. My partner and Daughter rely on my HVO income. For people like myself mining is all I know. If HVO doesn’t continue I’m out of a job, my family are out a weekly pay and my friends, family, work mates and neighbors are all heavily affected also

I support the HVO continuation because my friends, family and myself are dependent on the financial, social and community benefits this project provides to my local area.

I strongly support the continuation of the HVO project as a whole. It provides immense economic stimulation throughout the hunter with all the employees as well as contract companies and local businesses.

It is my place of work and as I live local this supports my way of living and the returns income into the town that I reside in.

I work at the North put for HVO. I have just started my position here and I support the project as it provides a lot of jobs for the local community and HVO supports a lot of local business as well as community fun days which contribute to charities.

For my Family

I support the HVO continuation because it allows me to provide a home for me and my family. It allows not only me but 1500 other employee to put food on the table.

This project isn’t just about mining — it’s about families like mine. HVO provides security, stability and opportunities that allow us to live, work and raise our kids here in the Hunter. Also build a strong future for 1500 employees and continue to support local charity and the community.

I am in support of HVO’s continuous support of myself and family/friends in my local community, and the local business around me.

I support the project of mining it helps with financial stability towards my family.

Not only does it support 1500 local jobs, it supports mine and my family’s future, along with the continual support for local charities through workplace giving and community grants whilst also paying taxes and mining grants that go straight into the community.

I have seen first hand that HVO mine coal responsibly and with regard to the environment and neighbours. Whilst ever there is a demand for coal we should be mining it here in Australia, because nobody mines coal more responsible and with care then us.

HVO is not seeking to open a new mine, this mine has been here for 70 years.
