HVO has been operating responsibly for over 30years and provides many jobs and other support to the local businesses and community. This project will allow this to continue for many more years and i.highly support this project.

Hunter Valley Operations employees a significant amount of people from our LGA (Singleton). This in turn has a great impact on the revenue spent in our local government area.
If HVO doesn’t go ahead there will be a huge loss to our community and the entire coal sector.
I have friends and family who work here who would be greatly affected.
I support this project extension.

The project provides employment to me, local people and those who come from around Australia, training of apprentices and supporting local businesses. It creates employment to the next generation. it brings development to the areas surrounding the mine.

This mine has been mining here for 70 years.
They will continue to effectively manage community impacts.
HVO employs up to 1500 local jobs and support for local businesses that we buy goods and services from.
They continue to provide mining royalties to support schools, hospitals and roads as well as pay for teachers, nurses and Police.
This mine offers local charity and community support through our Workplace Giving, sponsorship and community grants programs

I am employed at HVO South. Many others in my local community (Singleton) also provide for their families by working at HVO. They support our local businesses in their turn. Our town thrives because of mining. HVO and Glencore care for our local community in other ways too, with special projects and initiatives that support local groups. As an employer they support diversity and offer equal opportunities for all, and are conscientious about being good neighbours and leaving the land in the best possible state. I believe that the continuation of HVO into the future is essential for the future of my community.

The kids in our community enjoy many varied sports. Without coal mine donations many of those kids would not have the necessary equipment required by these sporting groups to function. It is great to see the coal mines in our area support many groups, sporting & otherwise.

Hvo glencore is a quality mining company they look after the surrounding communities and provide good work opportunities for the area and have a strong focus on safety and mine rehabilitation

I support the project at hvo south due to the impact it would have on employment throughout the hunter valley area if not approved.

In the EIS it was noted that woodlands in the lemington area would not be disturbed This demonstrates the environmental considerations the company has shown.

Supports local jobs, grants and the economy. We need coal.

The extension and the continuation of mining is integral in the security of jobs in the local community while an alternative is created.

I support the project as it helps keep our economy afloat. Helps local businesses, families etc so many people rely on HVO to keep in business, to put food on their families tables and we need it.

I have been a resident of this area for over 50 years and in that time have watched how various industries in the Hunter Valley coalfields can successfully co-exist for the mutual benefit of all. The coal industry in general will decline due to resource depletion and genuine alternatives to baseload power generation need to be explored and implemented, however we are not in that position yet. The HVO continuation allows time for genuine alternatives to baseload power to be explored that are something better than supplementary when conditions are good. There is no logic in objecting to the continuation of an existing operation when the alternative is greater development of lower quality coal operations in other countries to fill the gap.
