I support the Hvo Continuation Project to secure the future of local jobs for the community and my family alike. I support that by the time mining is finished that the land will be rehabilitated and left in a better state than first proposed.

As a new resident to singleton, and a new employee of HVO I have seen 1st hand the impacts HVO has on the community, the environment, the economy and of course its workers. The team are extremely vigilant in daily routines of safety, standards, legislation and environment. The culture of the people is next to none, exceptional teamwork being monitored, executed and maintained by a positive yet strict management team.

I believe the continuation of this project, without any deviation to its current strategy would be a benefit to all involved, being the workers, the community and the country. Why change what isn't broken.

Coal is still a very viable source of energy, and although new energy sources are being produced, they are still not enough to sustain the ever growing population. Extending this project to will help ensure the energy requirements are sustained, assisting growth in the local areas and financial stability to all those involved.

If approved, the mine will be able to continue to:

• provide around 1500 ongoing local jobs plus 600 temporary jobs constructing infrastructure upgrades
• support businesses and suppliers - HVO spends around $500 million annually with more than 700 suppliers, many of them local
• pay taxes, royalties and other payments to governments to support infrastructure such as schools, hospitals and roads, as well as pay for teachers, nurses and Police
• support charities and community projects through its community grants, charity support, sponsorship and workplace giving programs.

We that live in the Hunter Valley need this project to continue with supporting the neighbouring communitys and the families of the workers in the mines and the contracting company that work at hvo
If this project doesn't make it where does all the work force go ?

I am a neighbour of hvo and they have been always good to me.. they are not a new mine and should be allowed to continue because they do alot for the surrounding areas.. e.g. singleton show which is mainly supported by glencore and without that, kids would not have a end of year show to look forward to.. just 1 of many things Glencore do for the community

I whole heartedly support this mine. Is given me great opportunities with my career, lifestyle and family options. Without the mine, I could not support other businesses to the level I do without the money the mine helps to generate.

HVO is one of the leading job opportunities in the hunter, it feeds families and supports Australia in the coal industry.
many locals rely on jobs just like this to survive and provide for their families and with the growing cost of living jobs like this is the only was to stay afloat in outer areas like singleton Muswellbrook ect

people in the "big city" don't realise how many people HVO supports in not just the people that work there but giving back to the community as well with projects like donations, community garden overhauls and school upgrades, hvo needs to continue to 2050 to continue to be the backbone of the hunter

Energy and Met coal is essential to support humanity. I fully support renewable energy and that is the path for the future, however, at present, both locally and globally, the infrastructure doesn't exist to allow full transition. Heating, cooling, refrigeration, energy supply are the building blocks for modern life both at personal and commercial levels. If Australia doesn't meet these needs others will and the other coal available is not mined as efficiently nor of the same equality. The land is rehabilitated close to natural formation and with some additional assistance of regenerative methods can exceed natural formation. A transition takes time and only those with sufficient GDP can care for the environment. I understand the desire to not proceed, the basis of opposition is from a moral place but with blinkers, ultimately, the agenda is anti human. Once renewables can and have replaced what coal currently achieves, then yes, I would agree, but for now, locally we need this, globally we need this. Morally, I must support my fellow and this project.
