I support the Warkworth modification as it supports local jobs and the economy of NSW and Australia.

I am currently employed by a local earthmoving company - I have been employed here for the last 10 years - if the modification does not go ahead my employent would jepordized as this would hugely effect our work load and cause uncertainty for the future of the company.This would also impact on 70 other employees of this company

As a director of a local earthmoving business I support the 350m extension for Mount Thorley Warkworth. If this did not go ahead our business would be at risk along with 70 employees.

I have relocated from North Queensland 5 years ago. My Family has now integrated into the community, my wife has a job in a local Singleton business, my two young sons in Primary school in Singleton. Since coming to town i have invested in our own house in town and also an investment property in town. If this extension was to not go ahead it would mean, I along with my Family would have to again relocate else where. This would mean selling up and leaving the area. My situation would only be 1 of numerous families in the same boat. This would have a negative impact both on the mine as well as the local communities financial future. The loss of this expansion would surely impact also on the revenue created into the federal governments budgets.

I am a 21 year old Uni student who is employed by a local earhtmoving company - I work here when uni is on breaks & every day I am not at uni to pay my tuition fees - if the modification does not go ahead my job would be more than likely lost due to rapid decline in the workload.

I have been working for an Earth Moving Company for 2 years. The impact of the MTW mine Expansion would mean more positions becoming available. If the mine expansion does not go ahead many more will be forced out of work. If it was forced to close i could lose my job, my home and so could others in my family and many on my friends

Mount Thorley Warkworth provides a stable income for over 1,300 full time employees in the Hunter Valley. And the operation of the mine reaches into many other businesses that supply MTW. Thousands of people depend on this mine and if production was to drop, the result could be devastating.

We need certainty. We've been wondering what the future holds now for four years. If this minor modification to an existing, 30 year old mine does not get approved, I am worried about what this will mean for local jobs and investment across the NSW mining industry.

mine provides over a thousand jobs and effects very few people any more than it already does. good for the economy in this down turn where every job is handy. its useless agricultural land anyway

I am employed by a local earthmoving company & if the modification does not go ahead my employement of 10 years will be seriously jepordized due to the serious downturn in our work load - along with 70 other co workers.

Coal produces safe low cost energy which will assist in raising the living standards of people in Australia and around the world. Everyone in the world should be able to enjoy the same standard of living as we enjoy in Australia. It starts with access to energy.
We also need to create employment opportunities for future generations of Australians. We need to support mining providing there are acceptable levels of environmental protection. Without mining, what do we have to offer?

I am the Managing Director of a local Earthmoving Company that was established in 1945 by my Great Grandfather & Grandfather.
I took over from my father recently after he retired & I along with my Sister are the fourth generation family member to manage the business.

Our company has seen a major downturn in mining activities recently which has affected a lot of organisations.
We are currently contracted at MTW to carry out mine rehabilitation, water management & general earthworks, we have invested heavily in equipment & personel & employ approx 70 local workers.
We have tried & succeeded our best to keep most of our workers during this downturn but feel if MTW do not get approval for their extension we will have to make redundant around 50% of our workforce & sell equipment that we have just purchased to fulfil our current contracts.

We need MTW extension to be approved not only for our business but for all our workers & suppliers.

Dear Minister,

Our Company was established in 1945 & is a fourth generation family run business that has relied on Mount Thorley Warkworth for the past 20 years as one of our main sources of income.
We are currently contracted at MTW to carry out mine rehabilitation, water management & general earthworks & have invested heavily in equipment & personel.
We currently employ in excess of 70 local workers who all have expressed concern for their employment due to the uncertainty of this extension.

If MTW does not receive the approval for the extension there would be no doubt in my mind that we would have to terminate at least half our workforce & also sell half of our equipment.
This in turn not only affects our workers but also has a flow on effect to the equipment suppliers, tyre & oil manufacturers not to mention our local general stores etc where the workers shop before & after work.
