I object to turbines of this magnitude and in these numbers due to the enormous drain and interruption to our natural environment. They are not green, they are not renewable, they take huge amounts of natural resources to construct, erect, transport and maintain. The CO2 emissions from the concrete needed in itself is an assault on our environment.
NOT GREEN, NOT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY, NOT RENEWABLE, NOT FOR ME!!!

Wind farms are an insult to REAL FARMS! They don't do what is claimed of them, it's all just a cash grab! Serious consideration should be given for our wonderful natural environment. We KNOW that the project managers (and their employees) DON'T CARE ABOUT OUR ENVIRONMENT nor do you care about our endangered species!! That's your job to police these areas... don't fall down on your job! Don't let overseas company's take advantage of us. I OBJECT TO BALDON WIND. I support real farming for the livelihoods of farmers to feed and clothe our nation.

This project is proposed for an isolated area and will have minimal visual impact for locals and tourists.
I support the Bullawah Wind Farm project as it will be good for our region through economic benefits to the community, increased economic activity for local business and job opportunities, particularly during construction.
Bay Wa r.e. has already provided generous grants and sponsorships to our community which I believe will continue during construction and operational stages.
Valued sponsorship thus far include Hay Business Achiever Award for three years, Rainbow on the Pains festival, Hay Show, Country Education Foundations and the Plains-wanderer education program.
The project was designed to allow grazing to continue, with minimal impact on farming practices.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my strong support for the Bullawah Wind Farm project in New South Wales. This initiative is not only a vital step towards a sustainable energy future but also a significant contributor to local economic development, job creation, and environmental protection.
The Bullawah Wind Farm will play a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change. With the increasing urgency to transition to renewable energy sources, this project aligns perfectly with both state and national goals for reducing reliance on fossil fuels and enhancing the sustainability of our energy systems.
Additionally, the project will provide a considerable boost to the local economy. The development, construction, and ongoing operations of the wind farm will create numerous jobs, benefiting both skilled workers and the broader community. Local businesses will also see increased opportunities as a result of the additional economic activity generated by the project.
Furthermore, wind energy is one of the cleanest and most efficient forms of power generation available. By investing in the Bullawah Wind Farm, we are investing in a healthier environment for future generations. The project’s adherence to stringent environmental regulations ensures that natural habitats are protected and that the impact on local wildlife is minimized.
I am also pleased to note that the Bullawah Wind Farm will encourage community engagement and support local initiatives, fostering a sense of partnership between the developers and the residents of New South Wales. Listening to the concerns of community members and providing transparent communication about the project will build trust and a positive relationship.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly support the Bullawah Wind Farm and urge decision-makers to approve this essential project. It is a forward-thinking investment that will benefit our economy, our environment, and our community.
Thank you for considering my submission.
Sincerely,
Marcel Meyer

Sustainable, renewable energy is the future! We owe it to our children and their children's children to do what we can now to prevent further irreparable damage to the planet. I believe this is the sort of project that we should be supporting to help do this.
The side benefits seem very positive to me as well. For instance, it will provide local employment through the building phase and ongoing jobs when it's operational. From an indigenous cultural perspective I am satisfied that there has been, and will continue to be, consultation between BayWa and local indigenous groups. And i am particularly pleased that BayWa has committed to supporting the conservation of the Plains-wanderers in one of their last remaining habitats.
I can't see any reasons not to support the Bullawah Wind Farm.

I support the project due to its contribution to the closure of coal fired electricity generation which adversely affects the health of my patients in the Newcastle and Central Coast regions. I am also attaching the fact sheet on wind farms and health from Doctors for the Environment Australia, which debunks the misinformation about wind farms being harmful to humans.

I have personally travelled to South Hay area, Deniliquin, Finley and Conargo and inspected Rural Properties and the current Transgrid transmission line projetc.
The area is well maintained and meeting several local farmers they havea high regard for sustainabilirt , landcare and animal welfare, after all it is their livelihood as well. There has been much done to improve the area, water harvesting ensures water supply for all animals including birds to cattle.
As one of Australias least populated areas it seems as ideal area for wind farm projects and there is exisitng transmission lines and second major transmission line development already with no issues and local Flora, Fauna and farmer interaction.
On these grounds i support the wind farm development .
Please see recent photos of area, native birds, farm animals and power grid exisitng and new works.

Hi , My name is Jasen Crighton . I own & manage a third generation engineering & construction Co based in Hay Crighton's.
My parents started the business 47 years ago that I have worked in for over 40 years & I have three sons working in the business that employes 33 local people .
The Bullawah wind farm project comes at an exciting time for our community with the renewable industry promising to help bring much needed industry to the area. Hay is a wonderful place to live & here at Crighton's we hope to be a good neighbour a valued business partner invested in growing to meet the renewable industries needs .
The Hay region is a vibrant agricultural hub with strong community , hard working caring people who welcome new people & industry to the region . We commend the Bullawah team on their efforts to date to keep the community informed & invested .
The region will benefit however this development is done with more people in the area , more industry to engage with & the tailings on the ground that at a minimum will add some value for us all to feed from. However there is opportunity to see Bullewah & the local community break new ground & do a lot more if there is an apatite to connect early and put focus on the opportunity.
The growth of renewables opens some opportunities for all businesses within the region but can multiply this affect when both parties plan & where they are open too accept the development. The opportunity for companies conducting these projects is to realise early the benefits all parties can gain where partnerships are formed & as a team we all commit to helping these local regional businesses get ready to fit the need of the development so any gaps in supply capacity or suppliers systems are identified early with a team approach to building the local supply network to meet project needs as it evolves. Many large projects leave real connection way too late & miss out on benefit that localism brings . The past missed opportunities often leaves communities disconnected & bitter that the developments leave less behind in their wake than should have been the case.
As such here at Crighton's we welcome the Bullawah team to the area we wish you well in your endeavours . We understand local partnering will reap benefits in many directions if we all commit to connecting early , evaluating where we can help each other & partnering to eliminate gaps so best fit solutions benefit all. Welcome to the region & we invite your team members to come & help us understand where we can be a good neighbour & solid contributor to the success of your projects in the region.

I fully support the Bullawah Wind Farm, as it will provide a sustainable energy output and will help drought-proof the town.
The farm is located in an isolated area with no immediate neighbours so should not affect anyone as no one lives in the vicinity. The location of the turbines will not impact the working of farms and will allow for farmers to continue to run animals, preserving agricultural work.
The wind farm will benefit the area significantly, providing many jobs for local businesses and individuals, delivering an economic boost to the area. Several locals have already been involved in the development with many more to be employed should the project proceed.
BayWar.e, the company behind the farm, will work with First Nations communities in order to maintain the lands cultural heritage, and additionally intend to support the local community and local community projects via grants and sponsorship. They have also committed to maintaining conservation of the surrounding area and have designed the project to prevent local environmental damage.

Wind generation of bulk power is grossly inefficient and unreliable requiring greater resource use for the same power output. The need for extensive transmission lines and batteries makes the project even more counterproductive to the stated aim of reducing emissions.

I object to this Electricity Generating Works proposal because I am convinced it will never result in cheaper electricity for us or others. Our electricity costs have already gone up four-fold in four years even before the latest 25% increase by the AER. Wind and solar electricity generation have increased significantly over the same period. Conclusion, as discovered by others around the world, more wind and solar equals increasingly higher energy bills.

Food security
Australia is a signatory to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Article 2 section 1(b) requires that actions taken to reduce greenhouse emissions is to be done "in a manner that does not threaten food production". Clearly this project will utilise some of Australia's 6% of agricultural land and therefore threaten food production now and in future generations. If the project is approved then it will be in breach of Australia's obligations under this article.
Decommissioning
I oppose this project because it is very unlikely that the decommissioning, removal and land rehabilitation will occur due to the exorbitant cost that will be involved. The cost in 20 years or so time will likely exceed today's cost to build the project. Unlike mining companies there is no requirement for this developer to lodge a bond to cover this future cost. Who will ultimately pay? The new owner of the plant, the host landholders, the local ratepayers or the State and/or Federal governments. The project must not be approved unless such a bond is in place.

The proposed project is not "fit for purpose". It will generate substantial CO2e emissions immediately in its production and installation that will take many years if ever to offset from the relatively little electricity it may generate. Therefore the project is immediately detrimental to the climate. The project must therefore be rejected.
The proposed project will negatively impact our energy and national security. The bulk of the components will be made in China, who is not only the world's increasingly higher greenhouse emissions country but has already used trade bans against Australia. This project will make Australia even more dependent on current and future supply of electricity components. Do not approve the project for the sake of our children and their children.
The proposed project is not "fit for purpose". It will not reduce electricity costs to consumers, as evidenced by not only the huge frequent increases in Australian NEM prices to date, but also the experience in every country where wind and solar are 30% or more of the capacity mix. Sweden recently dropped its target of 100% renewables as wind and solar generation do not work (unreliable and intermittent). Instead Sweden is to build more zero emissions nuclear plants, as other countries are doing. Australia must do the same! The project must therefore be rejected.

This will provide an economic boost to the region and boost population, which will have direct benefits to other services such as health and transport. This development will help Australia transition to renewable energy which will have long-term benefits to air and water quality. I believe the developer has done all they can to make this a quality development proposal in terms of the environment, First Nations culture and safety issues. I welcome the investment in community benefits schemes and partnerships with Councils.
