HVO North Open Cut Coal Continuation Project

Hvo is a company that mines in the best way possible. They support me and my family. This extension will allow my young family the best chance for a good future and support my local town of lochinvar as well.

We need to support HVO continuation for the following reasons:
1: export & trade
2: jobs for staff/employees & the supporting industries which provide a service to HVO ie contractors, etc
3: a) investment in infrastructure - we need coal because we cannot rely on solar or wind technology to turn our lights on.
b). invest more money in clean coal technology for our future.

This extension submission must be grated, to not grant this submission would be a huge concern to thousands of people. Everyone talks about being environmentally friendly, well the mine is already here the infrastructure is already here people's livelihood is here and government's revenue will be continued. I have worked in the mining industry for 34 years, my son works in the mining industry and if everybody bothered to sit down and look at their life and their job, mining plays a very big part for all of us. I'm not against the so called renewal energy options but none of the option are possible without the mining of the raw materials and the then the manufacturing processes of the materials to build them.
• This is not a new mine. We’ve been mining here for 70 years.
• There’ll be little change to the scale or intensity of mining and no increase to approved annual production rates.
• We will continue to effectively manage community impacts.
• Continuing up to 1500 local jobs and support for local businesses that we buy goods and services from.
• Continuing taxes and mining royalties to support schools, hospitals and roads as well as pay for teachers, nurses and Police.
• Continuing local charity and community support through our Workplace Giving, sponsorship and community grants program.
The project must be granted.

I am a firm believer of supporting the Hunter valley operations project , not only the jobs they create for the Hunter valley and abroad but the commitment that they offer to the local and surrounding communities is second to none.

I support the project due to the employment opportunities it provides to many local families. I am also highly supportive of the economic benefits it provides to both local, state and federal economies.

I have lived locally my whole life. My family has been local for generations. For generations our family has worked in the coal mines. Our local economy depends on the mines. In our area people either work in the mines or are associated with the mines in some way.
I currently work for hunter Valley Operations and I would like to retire here.

Hvo provides not only my family but many others in the local and surrounding communities with stable employment. This allows us to invest in the local economy through spending at local businesses and tax payments to governments to allow additional spending on infrastructure and other important upgrades.

I support the continuation of the HVO operation. The operators of the mine have shown an ability to adhere to best mining practices to minimise environmental impact and have a proven record of land rehabilitation in old mining areas.

HVO provides many opportunities for young people in education, apprenticeships and graduate schemes, supporting their growth at work and personal life. Supporting workers with families and the local community.

HVO is where I started my mining career in 2005, Have recently returned with experience in modern training and onboarding techniques for new workers. The community needs this continuation project to be approved as every day we engage local businesses in all aspects of the mine operation, from consultants, field specialist to RTO training organisations.
Hunter Valley Operations over the years has & will continue to provide support to the local communities and residences.

HVO North is not only economically beneficial to NSW but from both pits 1500 families rely on HVO. The amount of small and large buisinesses that have work from HVO North would be a devastating loss if not approved.

Excellent project for the hunter valley supporting local community and buisness

HVO south, north and west pit is one of the biggest and longest running mines in the hunter valley. One of their greatest assets is their employees. In some cases there are now multiple generations of family members that have worked at HVO. Supporting workers and their families who then generally live local and buy local. Their children go to school and play sports and do activities within that community in turn supporting local businesses. Supporting those families keep them living in the hunter and in turn supporting their community. If they have to relocate for new employment opportunities this will severely affect the hunter valley as they are predominately mining families and there will be a severe downturn.

I support the North Project because the mine supports local communities, employes a huge amount of people, payes royalties to support roads ,hospitals and schools. It also gives us a great family life.

We need the continuation project to support & provide for my family. Local businesses also need it as they support the wider community with jobs

I’m a father of 4 and live locally without hvo I would not be able to provide for my family

I’d like to see the project approved so I can maintain steady employment and also give my children a good education
