HVO North Open Cut Coal Continuation Project

I support the HVO continuation project because I believe that it will continue to provide stable employment in the hunter valley region. With a heavy focus on environmental sustainability and modern efficient mining techniques it will continue to benefit the local community directly and indirectly through the multiple community programs and use of local workers.

HVO supports local community by employing local people and giving back to the community, it provides job security for local people which in turns helps community around the mine.

HVO is a current mine which has been in operation for 70 years. There will be minimal change to the process that currently operates at the mine. HVO provides the upper hunter community with up to 1500 jobs and kick backs to local businesses in which supplies are purchased from.
It will also continue to provide taxes and mining royalties to support schools and roads and also the critical areas such as police, hospitals and nurses. It also allows HVO to continue the local charity work and support given back to the community through things such as sponsorship, community grant programs and through workplace giving.

Let the continuation project to continue as it contributes significantly to the local community along side providing employment. The continuation project will make a significant positive impact on local businesses local individuals employees and contractors.

My husband works for hunter valley operations and is consistently talking about how well the mine runs and the things they do to go out of the way for the environment and that really makes a difference. We constantly are spending money in our local community and supporting local fund raisers with the money he earns from hvo.

Hunter valley operations have contributed largely to the hunter population as well as paying for schools, nurses, police & hospitals to function.
They have been doing continuous charity through their workplace sponsorship & grants program.

I work at HVO and so does my husband.

I am a born and bred Hunter resident, as are our two children.

Both our children attend local Upper Hunter schools, and we are active members and volunteers of various school and sporting associations in our area.

The approval of this project gives our family, and many friends families security looking forward, and will ensure we will call the Upper Hunter our home for many years to come.

This project is my families future, it gives us stability and allows us to keep calling the Upper Hunter our home.

I strongly support the hvo continuation project as it provides not only me and my family but many singleton and surrounding towns with employment and support for local businesses.

Hvo is a large employer in the mine as well as supporting massive outside industry they have always given great support to local communities thru donations and sponsorship without this mine the economy in the past yrs for local and nsw as well wouldn’t have faired as well thru the economic down turns world wide as well as keeping its workforce going thru covid period.hvo are always looking at the environment and ways to protect it from mining I believe this mine has a bright future and would like it to be able to support family n friends ti enter into the mining world

The expansion of HVO will see continued support of local communities

The mine has provided employment and my lifestyle for over 40 years. The mine is a positive contributor to both the local area and state areas. The mine’s employees are environmentally conscious. The mine has many millions of tons of coal that can be mined without disturbing virgin ground. I fully support this application.

I support the project,HVO is more than a work place it provides comfort too me that I can keep my house in Cessnock look after my partner, I don't want to have too work away from home and risk potential separation with my partner and just not being able to be with her everyday, HVO gives me the comfort that I won't have to do that and still be able to live in the Hunter Valley. I support the project also because their are community's that depend on this mine site certain towns will be nothing without these projects. Their are heaps of company's that sub contract too the mine either on site or based in work shops around the Hunter and there will be alot of unemployment in the Hunter causing family separations, suicide, family hardships and a decline on Hunter Valley as a whole.
