The Modification Submission for the Mount Thorley Warkworth site will directly affect My Family as I have had my 1st child 7 months ago and I would like to provide Her with all the Educational and Sporting opportunities that she deserves in life. My current position with Coal and Allied Rio Tinto will adequetly provide these opportunities for Her. However, if the Modification and Extension currently being considered is turned down, the operation at the Mount Thorley Warkworth site will be downscaled, and a number of Jobs wont be required any further. This will impact many Families and in turn, the Local Communities and Businesses which rely on Mining Employees' for their business.

this project will have big implications for my family and myself and the local business my income support. The failure of extension too get approved will mean that my job is less secure. I have myself a wife and 2 children too support with this income. with mining industry in a downturn at the moment the ability to secure another job is unlikely in short term and would great strain on my family and my relationship. the detrimental effects for the community surrounding will be minimal if this project goes ahead but economic effects very widespread beneficial to the community at large. I hope will consider this in your decision to approve this project

I support the submissions of the proposed extension as I value my own employment and if this doesnt go through I believe that my employment will be in jeopardy and so will the employment of many others, which in turn will affect the employment of many other people in the hunter valley as any downturn in employment here at MTW will impact on others in the area to. In turn not only does this have an impact on the employment industry it also affects the lives of families and causes great stress to all. I believe the benefits fair of approving the extension far outway and negatives proposed by the people of Bulga. I wonder how many of the people in Bulga are blinded by the fact that if there are job cuts here that this will have a follow on effect and in turn this may then affect them too.

If this extension is not approved it will result in myself and alot of other people losing our jobs. This will take alot of money out of the surrounding communitys. I would not be able to support my houshold, which would mean i would possibly have to move to find another job.

I believe that the extension is very important to me because we are expecting our first child, therefore I will be the sole earner for my family. I like living in singleton and believe that if the extension didn't go through it would greatly affect the community in which I live. Also I would like for my kids one day to possibly work in the mining industry, and believe that the extension would play a big part of that.

I am supporting the submission put forward by MTW.
I have a young family and the future of MTW will play a big part in helping me support them and giving them a good start to life. Having long term employment in the hunter valley area is very important to me and my family. if I lost my job there would be a posability that I would have to move out of the area to find more work. this will affect the community I live as my kids wont go to school and we wont be spending money in the area. I believe the area needs mining as does Australia.

I hope that the person/people reading this can understand my situation with reguards to this extension.
In the hopes this extension gets approved, it will provide me with sustainability of my job within Rio Tinto. The future of the Mt Thorley Warkworth mine is the founding key to my future, of starting and supporting my family, building a house within the hunter as I grew up here as a child, and would love my children to grow up here in the hunter aswell.
The future of Mt Thorley Warkworth isn't just my sustainability for me, or my family. The companies that provide machinery, parts, and personnel for labour also depend on this mine for them to survive in these struggling economic times. The companies that support this mine, will be required to cut labour and/or possible close down their business due to no demand of their resources due to Mt Thorley Warkworth, which will possibly create thousands of job losses across this mine and supporting industries. The thousands of job losses created by this will also create strain on our economy, due to the revenue created by the taxes of the people still working are helping the government withhold a massive downturn in the economy, as well as the coal exportation that is helping Australia with this world financial crisis.
Hopefully you will take my submission into consideration, not just for me, but for my family, the other thousands of families of workers that support this mine, and for the economic stimulus that is being provided by this mine to the state and federal government.

The coal industry as a whole has provided Australia a lifeline over the past decade with uncertainty within the worlds economy and the fact now that emerging countries are starting to produce not only coal but other resources for power,it is vital that we maintain our position as one of the worlds top export countries not only to make our country a more viable country to invest in also to give the people who live and work in the coal regions a career path that can be long term,
The Warkworth extension is vital for myself my family and the nsw economy also to show the world that we not only have the best practise in reducing emissions, but also having a balance of community responsibility and caring for the environment its people and the rest of Australia.

I support mining in NSW.
I am concerned about the impact of government policies on our mining industry. Mining contributes a great deal to our state. It is the biggest export industry in NSW, provides tens of thousands of direct jobs, provides billions in royalties, and supports jobs in other industries like manufacturing. New layers of regulation and an increasingly complicated planning system threaten the industry in NSW and put our future prosperity at risk.
Mining in NSW is facing the toughest conditions in 20 years with many jobs lost in the last six months and many more could follow. While mining regions like the Hunter bear the brunt of these job losses, Sydney will also be affected as investment and revenue are lost to NSW

I support this submission on the grounds that if there is no extension there is no job for me. If the mine closes or even downsizes the community will suffer.
