I have moved to singleton to work at this site, I live in Singleton, spend money in town and in the process of buying a house in town, the life of this mine is holding me and my family back from purchasing a property. If this proposal is not approved I will have no option but to leave the area and look for work elsewhere.

This expansion affects me and many others gratly. I have seen enough friends and family being affected from the mining downturn with loss of jobs or work being reduced so they can just keep there head above water. If MTW closes down in the near future due to this expansion not being approved it would have a large affect in the surrounding communities. Keep it open and save the Hunter.

We need this expansion to secure the jobs of the MTW workers and the greater community as the mine supports the livelihood of many small businesses in the area directly and indirectly.

Without the approval of the Warkworth consent and the job losses that will follow, as a single income family we will find ourselves in a stressful and uncertain situation in regards to future employment as the mining sector has slown down as has the jobs that come with it making it difficult to find permanent work in the local area.
The Mount Thorley Warkworth mine supports alot of local business, companies, community and charity organisations so without the mines extentsion approval it will not only impact its employees but the local and wider communities as a whole who rely heavily on the mining sector, especially the Mount Thorley Warkworth mine.

Dear Minister,
I support Coal & Allied's Warkworth Modification application to gain access to an additional 350m of land owned by the mine, to avoid a significant drop in production and employment.
I have worked at MTW since May 2006 starting out as a contract operator in the mining team. Since then I have progressed my carrer at MTW into the postion I have today. Since trasfering to a full time employee in August 2007 into a training and development role I have had the pleasure of recruiting and employeeing in excess of 500 operators, the majority of which have been trainees from the local hunter area giving them a start in the mining industry at MTW.
The continued ability for our site to give these opportunities to people depends on the long term future of this mine.
On a personall level both myself and my wife are directly employeed by MTW and in turn we employee someone to assist with our familiy needs having 3 young daughters. For this application not to be granted would not only dramatically effect our family but also the family of the person we employee.
Please accept this submission in support of the Warkworth Modification.
Regards
Scott Ellis

I support the extension to MTW due to high possibility of losing my job. I am a family man with a wife, 2 school aged children with a mortgage, and I am sole income provider for my family. There are also large possibilities of job losses for the supporting industries of the mine which would greatly affect the local community. I am also worried if I do lose my job about continuing my career in the mining industry with the current down turn in the mining industry.

I support the Walkworth extention as if it is not granted it will significantly affect myself and my family if job losses ocure as we have dependants who rely on our income and a mortgage to pay. Also because of the current mining downturn there are very limitted job opportunities out there to replace a possible loss of my possition at Walkworth. Also, apart from all the 1300 employees who rely on Walkworth to provide an income there are many others in supporting businesses who contract or subcontract to Walkworth who also rely on the continuation of this mine to support their families.. Not to mention all the infrustucture this place provides for the surrounding communities.

I strongly appose any extension without any consideration being given to neighbouring residents, in relation to NOISE.
Any increase in NOISE is unacceptable. The current operations impact already too much on our rights; the operations cannot successfully manage any increase in noise.
There has been no consideration given to residents already greatly impacted on, there has been no application put forward for acquisition lines or mitigation lines.
The Mine should be made to give people the choice to stay and put up with it or be granted compensation.

Dear Minister,
I support Coal & Allied's Warkworth Modification application to gain access to an additional 350m of land owned by the mine, to avoid a significant drop in production and employment.
I work with the Coal & Allied group and as such I know how much this operation means to the community in terms of jobs, business and impact if it were to cease existence if this application was to not to be approved.
Mount Thorley Warkworth provides a stable income for over 1,300 full time employees in the Hunter Valley. And the operation of the mine reaches into many other businesses that supply MTW. Thousands of people depend on this mine and if production was to drop, the result could be devastating.
We need certainty. We've been wondering what the future holds now for four years. If this minor modification to an existing, 30 year old mine does not get approved, I am worried about what this will mean for local jobs and investment across the NSW mining industry.
Please accept this submission in support of the Warkworth Modification.
