IF this extension does not go ahead it will have a major impact on me my family and the livleyhood of other workers and families including contractors and suppliers to the mining industry

The extension is going to have a massive impact to my wife, kids, and family. I would lose my income, i would struggle to regain employment elsewhere as i dont have any other qualifications. It will effect my house repayments, kids school fees and putting food on the table. It will effect all other contractors and businesses in the hunter area not just the people employed at the mine.

This extension if it doesn't go through will effect my whole family not just my wife and three children but also my parents and inlaws as we will have to call on our whole family for support as this will effect my families entire income as my wife is a stay at home mum.Loss of income means I won't be able meet my mortage and pay all the bills associated with day to day living.Losing my job here at MTW means it will be hard for me to find employment as I am Fitter Machinist by trade which is an industry that relies on mining and if mines like MTW aare closing the flow on effect will be detrimental to mmy chances of regaing employment elsewhere.

I have been an employee at MTW for 5 years, not getting this extension would drstically affect not only myself but my family, I am currently trying to renovate my house, get married and start a family but due to the pending decision that has been put on hold untill futher notice. The last 12 to 18 months waiting for this decision to past down has been a very trying time not knowing what is going to and what the future holds for my family and I belive the extension decion is linked to what the future holds for myself and my familys plans if this extension does go through all plans and family matters will be on hold indeffinatly and I will be forced to sell up and chase FIFO work witch will also take mine and my famiilie wages out of the valley.

I support the warkworth extension it is very important for the workers and there families that this goes ahead.

I support Coal & Allied's Warkworth Modification application to gain access to an additional 350m of land owned by the mine, to avoid a significant drop in production and employment.

*Are there family members who also rely on the mine?

*What impact would there be if it was forced to close or downsize?

Mount Thorley Warkworth provides a stable income for over 1,300 full time employees in the Hunter Valley. And the operation of the mine reaches into many other businesses that supply MTW. Thousands of people depend on this mine and if production was to drop, the result could be devastating.

We need certainty. We've been wondering what the future holds now for four years. If this minor modification to an existing, 30 year old mine does not get approved, I am worried about what this will mean for local jobs and investment across the NSW mining industry.

Moved here from Western Australia to work at this site, I live in singleton and shop locally and intend to buy a house in the area. If this application is rejected and jobs are lost I will have to move with my family to another location to continue work.

I have been permanently employed at Mount Thorley Warkworth approximately 7 years. Failure to gain an extension to our mine site would have a detrimental impact on my family. Currently I have 5 additional family members employed on site. My husband is included in those 5 members and we have 4 children that would be impacted as a direct result of extension failure. Furthermore the "ripple" effect of incomes not spent in the area would flow onto education funding, medical and infrastructure support. Families additionally will leave the area with no prospect of future employment directly and for their children. Again economic impact to the community would be detrimental. Contractors and local business would also be greatly impacted.
Families would suffer (including our own) with the very real prospect of relocating away from the area, also from family and friends.
Our children were excited at the prospect of coming to work out at this minesite and are currently saddened at the prospect of not being able to forfill their dreams, and the very real possibility that their parents may be unemployed in the near future.
Mount Thorley Warkworth has a positive rapport with the surrounding communities and groups with projects which also includes the local indigenous groups.

I have been working at Mt Thorley Warkworth for three years. I relocated from Qld to take up the position for family stability and lifestyle. I am anxious for the extension to be approved as employment at the mine site is under threat without it.

This will make sure that my family and I do not have to move away out of the valley away.We have a lot family in the area and it would be heart braking for wife and kids to move

I have worked at mtw for 6 years now . Before that i lived in queensland i moved down to work at mtw. i have brought a house and now live in maitland with my wife . i have now lost most of my other skills i had before i started work at mtw and without this extention i feel my job maybe on the line. so i would most likley have to leave the area to get work .

i support this submission due to the importance of the mine to the economics of the local community and the security of local jobs. mining has and always will be an important infrastructure and ongoing certainty for the future of our next generation for jobs and prosperity. this helps me make the decisions that are important to myself and my family

A crucial step in MTWs future is at hand. For every one coal mining job that is lost, 5 other in-direct mining service providers will go. Without the approval, the economic landscape in the Hunter Valley will change substantially for generations to come. MTW has the skills to work within compliance and treats near neighbours with respect.

I am publishing this statement in help for the extension at MTW due to if we lose this not only will people ,families lose jobbs home also the singleton comunity will lose out . ihave seen personally of friends and family lose their jobs and the was from just only supplying companies .

I support the submission for the extension so I can have more job security and can provide a better future for my family

I support the modification as there are many workers and their families, as well as local businesses that rely on the mine to survive.

I want the extension to go ahead for my family as we have moved here and have children in local schools, we put a lot of money back into the community and we need this approval to keep this area alive.

I support Warkworth extention. The mine generates enployment at the mine and business around the area

I am married to an employee of this mine and his wage contributes signifigantly to our household budget. If he were to lose his job we would feel an enormous impact to our way of life and to our mortgage.
We are a family of five with three small children to support and the money my husband earns we try to spend as locally as possible.
