IF THE PROPOSAL IS DECLINED, I WILL PROBABLY LOSE MY JOB. I LIVE IN A 20 KM RADIUS WITH MY HUSBAND AND THREE YOUNG CHILDREN. WE HAVE A MORTGAGE AND 3 KIDS TO RAISE. THERE IS ALREADY OVER 100 HOUSES FOR SALE IN THE BRANXTON/GRETA/NORTH ROTHBURY AREA. SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SELL THEIR HOUSE FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND HOUSE PRICES HAVE ALREADY DROPPED DRAMATICALLY OVER THE LAST YEAR DUE TO THE DROP IN COAL AND PEOPLE MOVING ELSE WHERE. WHY APPROVE AREAS LIKE REDFORD PARK, WINE COUNTRY DRIVE ESTATE AND THE HUGH SUB DIVIDVISION HUNT LEE IF THERE ISNT GOING TO BE ANY WORK FOR PEOPLE IN THE AREA??

IF RESIDENTS HAVE OBJECTIONS THEN MAKE SURE THE COMPANY STICKS TO THE ENVIROMENT RULES BUT THIS MINE FOR HAS BEEN FOR 30 YEARS. IT HAD PREVIOUS APPROVAL, THAT PEOPLE COUNTED ON TO GET A MORTGAGE AND A GUARANTEED FUTHER INCOME.

THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO LOOK AFTER ALL ITS TAX PAYER.

If the extension to Mount Thorley Warkworth open-cut mine does not go through I will lose my job in the mining industry. This will cause financial and emotional stress to myself and my family.

I WANT JOB SECURITY! I moved here a couple of years ago because the hunter valley was the "place of opertunities". we haved settled down, bought a house and am about to start a family. As the main income earner of the house its a stuggle now to pay EVERYTHING, let alone having to worry about if I still have a job tomorrow. If I am to loose my job, I am not ENTITLED to Centrelink for 3 months, so whos going to support me and my family? A couple of months ago after the knockback of the MTW extension, it has created such a hostile environment at work and around home.

House prices have gone down in town, the rental vacancy is now around 3%. There is very little employment opertunities in this area and if anything where to happen at MTW I would not be able to move to seek employment. Isn't it ironic that half the people who are against the Extension work here!

To whom it may concern,
The ongoing project continuiation is imperitive for the psychological well being of people working here and in the greater comunity, young famillys and generations of miners alike rely and deserve to have the right to earn and hold there heads high from making an honest dollar, economical growth with in the local body and from sources abroard are extremly well benifited by not only this mining project but many more through out the hunter, what makes a difference here is this is where we live and this is where our children already go to school and have made friends this is our home.we need this project.

Dear Minister,

I support Coal & Allied's Warkworth Modification application to gain access to an additional 350m of land owned by the mine, to avoid a significant drop in production and employment.

Mount Thorley Warkworth provides a stable income for over 1,300 full time employees in the Hunter Valley. And the operation of the mine reaches into many other businesses that supply MTW. Thousands of people depend on this mine and if production was to drop, the result could be devastating.

We need certainty. We've been wondering what the future holds now for four years. If this minor modification to an existing, 30 year old mine does not get approved, I am worried about what this will mean for local jobs and investment across the NSW mining industry.

Please accept this submission in support of the Warkworth Modification.

I relie on my job to support my new little family (8 month old baby) so living and working here lets me see them on a daily basis, living at my Howes Valley property. If the extension doesnt go through I will have to FIFO or move our family away from other family. Also I have two lease cars.
The mine does alot to support the local community.
The mine supports me for volunteer RFS duties for Howes Valley and Bulga area.

I am concerned about the future employment of myself and others I work with and our families if the lease extension doesn't go ahead. With a large number of jobs on the line it would be difficult to get another job in the industry without going interstate which would affect family life with children involved.

I have been an employee of Mount Thorley Warkworth for 10 years. I have lived in Singleton for 35 years. If we didn't get this modification I would be with out a job. I would have to leave the area to seek employment to pay my mortgage.
