Mod 6 - Expansion of Coal Mine

To extend the life the mine to keep people employed

we have a lot of young people and people with familys to support working here that need to work.we all work realy hard to look after the enviroment and our neighbours so every one is happy.all our futures are in this mine we need to make it work.

The future of the singleton community and livelihood of the younger people through apprentices makes It important for this to be approved and continue on to keep people employed. And everybody benefits from this.

we need coal to supply power for nsw and to export

i have a family to support, the money it puts back into the community as well as the flow on effect it has on other businesses within the region

This is important to all people in the area, ensuring to future of our families.

i have a family to suport and would like to keep my job and think that mining is good for the community.

I have a family to support and it's not just me it effects it the community. this extension will help the company provide jobs through out the region

I believe the extension and the modification should go ahead because of all the benefits that flow off the company ie. employment - there are many jobs created and resources that are sourced from smaller companies in the surrounding area. If this doesn't go ahead there will be a lot of families that will have to face financial difficulties. Smaller companies will be forced to close there doors. with the short fall of jobs in the area I to would have difficulty in finding employment.........

I would like the project to be approved to benefit the community & local business.

I would like to put forward that I am fulltime and it would affect myself and alot of other people if this project did not go throuhgh.

Singleton has been mine and my families home for five generations, i am third generation coal miner and have been employed at Mt Thorley Warkworth for 6 years as an Operator and Trainer/Assessor, my wife also works at MTW, her family has been employed within the mining industry for decades as well. The Singleton community has for a long time been a Coal Mining town and has been dependant on the industry for longer than i can remeber, from small business and industrial business to giants such as Caterpillar, all rely on the ongoing success of the industry as a whole. The extensions that Mt Thorley Warkworth have applied for are critical for the mine to continue and its employees to retain employment, already i have seen a number of people, some forced and some feeling they have no option, leave to secure employment interstate. i fear if we fail in getting approval for this my own, my wifes and my friends and collegues futures are in serious jeopardy and this would also mean the well being of my community and others will suffer as well. the general feeling in Singleton is that they wish for the success of the MTW bid and the ongoing employment for all at MTW and the future of our industry and community. This is our industry.

The potential of loosing the extension will impact greatly on my livelihood as well as my young families. The roll on effect among the community will be considerable as seen from our perspective.

I have been employed at MTW as a contractor operator for 3 years. The approvals MTW are bidding for are critical to my immediate future at this mine and therefore the future of my family. i fully support the bid and hope for success.

as i have worked at MTW for 2 years. i have a young family.The extension will keep my job for a couple more years i support this extension as my family depends on me.

I NEED the extension to go through as I have young family to support and I very much enjoy the work that I do.

i need this to go ahead to support my family because with out it people will lose there jobs.

I agree with the mines proposal for the minor extention as it would bring more job security to the areas that help the mines operate and I have been an employee for RTCA for the past 4 years and they work close with the surrounding communities. I have moved from Queensland to the hunter with my young family and woul like to have him grow up here, If the mines were to close I would be forced to move away from the area and i consider that to be a great shame as would all the other families that would have to do the same.

The shot term extension will provide my family and I with some job security.
The larger long term extension while having some impact on thee surrounding villages will in the long term will be good for the areas employment.

I want to support the extention because my family relies on my income here to survive an we also believe that this area the hunter valley is so beautiful to australia and we would not like this area to turn into a ghost town.
