I support the extension proposal as I believe it will bring jobs to the area. Both within local business and the community in general. It will also provide security to us employees within the mine itself. It also brings oppurtunities to the younger people in the community in the way of apprenticeships etc.

The extenion i think would bring greater job sercurity for local employee who support the communities in many ways eg. spending there money in the local area
also the the mining companies in the region support and contribute funds to many organisations and events creating more wealth to these club and the general comunity and businesses

The MTW extention would be a beneficiary for the comunity and the serounding area, as myself i've only been minning here at MTW for 2 years and moved. Myself and my wife work here and would like to work here for till we retire. we have bought a new house and have a new baby. without this extention we would be finacily burdened. in my own eyes without this extebtion the minning communty would suffer here in this regein. the jobs loses would be hugh and alot of people would suffer.

Im in favour of the extension as there is a demand for the continuing of the current job status and for continued growth of jobs. Security of families within the local area is paramount.
The security of the local business growth on the back of employment is also critical.
The conituation of mining within the local area and within the Hunter Valley is very important for the economic and social development to continue.

To Whom it may concern, I believe the extention should go ahead for the security of not only the warkworth employees and their families but for the whole community, as this will affect the future of both large and small business in the Hunter area and the money spent here that goes back into the community and the state.

The reason why I wish for the extension to go ahead is cause for future job security for myself and my family. For the future of the Singleton and surrounding businesses and famillies to carry on.
Without continuation of extensions the mining industry will no longer have a future and the industry will no longer exist which means no jobs for our childrens future.

I moved to the region to be closer to family and not have to fly out every week to work.
Mining is the backbone of Australia it and i am glad to be a part of this growing and developing industry.
The hunter valley is unique in that it allows us the miners to be able to have our careers and be able to come home every night and have our family life aswell.
I need this extension to go ahead to maintain my way of life wich i have become accustomed to.
Fly in fly out nearly destroyed my family and i really enjoy living and working here. There is no doubt that mining is impacting on our community but without mining there will be no community in this area.

I am writing this submission letter for the approval of the Mount Thorley Warkworth Extension as I have lived in the Maitland area my whole life. I have a family of three children which I am trying to support and the approval will give my family the job security needed to raise them without having to relocate to another state. I also feel the NSW economy cannot survive without the royalties the mining industry provides, as well as this the lost investment from multinational companies who are losing confidence in the planning processes in place for NSW.I am hoping common sense prevails and the voice of a few who moved to the area knowing the area is known for mining and this mine was in operation before moving here. Also the flow on effect to the supporting industries will mean further job losses right down the supply chain which the economy cannot support.

There are thousands of jobs and families livelyhoods in the balance on this decision, so many peoples lives depend on this mine not including support businesses and their families as well, i think it would devistate so many families if this mine had to close production early and put thousands and thousands of people out of work, including locals living in the area for generations, also taking into consideration the company went throuh years of approval processes to only be overturned unprecedently

The Mt Thorley Warkworth extension is essential for providing not only job security to those empolyed but oportunity for contractors working onsite to precure a permanent position.
Not only does the mine provide the employment for over 1000 people and security for their families. It also has positive impact statewide but to surrounding communities providing financial assisstance to sporting clubs, schools and many local businesses.
I hope that common sense can provail and that the system does not let all these employees and commnuties down.
I struggle to understand the proceedures, hoops red tape etc, that the company has to step through to get this over the line. In my opinion this is like trying to do some work in your own backyard, but being able to dig to your back fence.
This extension is criticl for me personally too. This will enable me to provide for my family.

i have a family to support, which the life of the mine is very critical for my and alot of others livelyhoods. I understand the decision isnt going to be taken lightly, but the flow on effect far outways the inconvenience of a few. thousands of people throughout the region will also be dramatically affected by this mine not being able to proceed.

the people of Bulga were aware of the mining in the area prior to the properties being brought and for the existing people who were there have benefited from the mining in the area. 152 people against 1300 people employed at Mt Thorley Warkworth doesnt seem right. Not only are the1300 employees at the minesite affected but also the companies who rely on the contractual work that the mine offers. The lively hoods of at least 10,000 people including children who rely on the income from the mine is at stake. I have 4 children who without my income will have to stop there after school activities such as soccer, cricket, dancing and tutoring as well as taking them out of the school in which all there friends attend and i believe the level of schooling offered under the public schooling system is a joke.
