On 22 June 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Warkworth Mining Ltd (WML) for exceeded noise impact assessment criteria at three noise monitoring locations for the Warkworth Continuation Project on 20 July 2022. WML had failed to implement their approved Noise Management Plan on the night of 20 July 2022 in the lead up to the exceedances. WML have since implemented measures to ensure compliance with their management plan and NSW Planningcontinues to monitor WML's noise reporting data and implementation of the NMP.

Since the down sizing and restucturing within the mining industry and the businesses supporting the industry that has taken place over the last eighteen months, there has already been a noticeable number or small to medium retail shops close; reflecting the ecconomic flow on effects the already significant job losses have created.
The benifits to the local ecconomy with regards to employment and the flow on effects of the wider ecconomy of the Hunter Valley far out weigh any negative.
Thus i give my support, with the caviat that all lands by subject to restoration to its naural state at a minimum as they stand at commencement of the the works and further to this, due care and dilligence shall be taken to examine, record and remove for presivation, if so requirsd, by thoes suitably qualified, and sites of cultural significance

I love my job and the great bunch of guys I work with. If this expansion doesn't go ahead the direct and indirect affects will be huge. This goes from workers all the way down to your corner shop. If this area doesn't have mining then it's nothing. The last thing we need is more lay off. Plus les Russell and sons earthmoving do a great job at rehabilitating the area so really , what's the harm ?
