On 22 June 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Warkworth Mining Ltd (WML) for exceeded noise impact assessment criteria at three noise monitoring locations for the Warkworth Continuation Project on 20 July 2022. WML had failed to implement their approved Noise Management Plan on the night of 20 July 2022 in the lead up to the exceedances. WML have since implemented measures to ensure compliance with their management plan and NSW Planningcontinues to monitor WML's noise reporting data and implementation of the NMP.

Without the extension we will be one of 1300 families struggling to pay our mortgages and bills, with every possibility of having to uproot our family and move out of the Hunter or even interstate for work.
This affects our future and could affect more than just the 1300 employees! MTW supports the local community, provides business for local suppliers and mutch more.
I believe Rio are a responsible mining company and that allot of accusations in the media are unfounded and unfair. Rio should be granted these approvals so that the resource is mined responsibly and the site can continue supporting the local community, its employees and there families, the Hunter region and this country.
I hope this submission helps Riotinto gain the approval for the sake of my family and many others.

I have investment properties in the area and have recorded a significant drop in it rental return since the downturn in the mining industry. The flow on effects of the recent mine closures in the area have been negative, numerous and significant. The effects of 1300 positions directly lost and who knows how many jobs in the support industries is almost un-imaginable.
The Warkworth Continuation Project has my full support

If this mine scales back or closes as a result of this expansion being denied, people will have no choice but to leave the area which is not a good outcome for our community's or the hunter,
Nsw mines work under the strictest conditions in the world and have been part of this area for many years that have provided billions of dollars to our economy and have pulled our country through the hard times,
I really hope common sense provides a positive outcome,
As to many people have already lost there jobs,

The fact that this mine and this state is being held back by 20 stubborn hillbillies is absurd.
The mine still employs 1300 people directly and many more indirectly.
The govt should be stepping in to promote mining and industry to get NSW back on track.
Most of the 20 objectors moved to bulga after the mine was in operation. You must expect expansion and progress, you
Can't close your eyes and assume there will be no change ever.
It is absurd that the expansion was rejected last time. This new submission meets the criteria and provides for an environmental offset.
Approve this submission before more families go through the distress that my family had last year when the verdict came down.

the loss of jobs and financial loss to the valley would be enormous.
