Waterless Toilets

WATER | Fixtures

Waterless toilets do not require any water for flushing purposes. Waterless toilets are also referred to as 'waterless composting toilets'.

If you nominate a waterless toilet in BASIX, every toilet in your development must be a waterless toilet.

NSW Health are responsible for accrediting waterless toilets for various purposes and a list of accredited waterless toilets can be viewed on the NSW Health website.

Please be aware that you will also require approval from your local council to install a waterless toilet in your development.

Note: that BASIX still requires a connection to be nominated within the tool in order to complete the calculations. Please leave 'town supply' as the selection for your toilets. This does not impact on your BASIX commitments and your development still receives the full savings for a waterless toilet.
