I am writing in support of the HVO continuation project. It not only provides thousands of jobs in the region it also puts back into the community, charities, schools,scholarships, business support and many more.
If the approval isn't granted it would have a massive impact on the hunter valley workers and community.
This is not a new mine, it has been around for a long time and is just wanting to go deeper

Future jobs and opportunities

HVO supports local community by employing local people and giving back to the community, it provides job security for local people which in turns helps community around the mine.

HVO is a current mine which has been in operation for 70 years. There will be minimal change to the process that currently operates at the mine. HVO provides the upper hunter community with up to 1500 jobs and kick backs to local businesses in which supplies are purchased from.
It will also continue to provide taxes and mining royalties to support schools and roads and also the critical areas such as police, hospitals and nurses. It also allows HVO to continue the local charity work and support given back to the community through things such as sponsorship, community grant programs and through workplace giving.

Hunter valley operations contributes significantly to all of hunters workforce & contributes largely to schools and hospitals as well as also paying for teachers, police & nurses.
Hunter valley operations has been a mining industry for over 70 years & has contributed so much to the hunter in all forms.

This project will continue to help the local economy and keeps thousands of locals in jobs.

Hvo south has a lot to offer in the power generation industry using modern mining practices producing good quality coal while maintaining the environment in which we work employing a large number of people and supporting contractors thru out the valley I believe it is a mine worth continuing into the future
