I fully support the application. Coal and Allied upholds some of the highest environmental standards and I'm confident can manage any environmental impacts associated with the project to which there are few.

I can't believe so much bureaucracy is required for such an insignifcant modification to a mine which has been operating since the 1980's. The original extension shoud never have been disapproved. Millions of dollars wasted and four years gone by while the mine starts to grind to a halt to the detriment of many emplyees, contractors and businesses in the Hunter Valley and NSW. Its critical for this application to be approved. Just do it.

Mining has carried this country through some difficult financial times and I believe NSW needs to continue to support the mining industry. This approval is vital for families and business in the hunter valley

I have been with Warkworth Mining, now Coal & Allied MTW for 26 years. We have always worked well with the community. We constantly look at ways to mitigate concerns of the public. Machines are constantly shut down when they do not meet environmental guidelines. I wish to continue working for this organisation. As many perceive, we don't care for the community, this is NOT the case. I have spoken to neighbours, they believe we don't care, after talking with them, they realise we are doing everything we can to appease their concerns. They now acknowledge this, believing we are not the "big bad" establishment that doesn't care about anyone else than themselves. I am not originally from this area, I moved here due to its beautiful surroundings and close proximity to my work. It is still a beautiful place & will remain to be. I will not be moving, I love the location & the community. I can only see detriment unfolding if the extension does not go ahead. The community of Bulga, Singleton & surrounding areas will suffer from the lost revenue injected into the community if the mine should reduce its workforce and maybe even close. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me. Thankyou for your time....Richard....

i dont want this extension to go thru this co already has shown its discrimitive attitude towards the local community and pepole. as far as employment this co just saked 30 fulltime employess at hunter valley mine .this so called 350 meter zoneis in the none disturance area agreed to buy this company but know want to dig it out .the so called coal owners association have spread a lot o propergander about job losses and how go it is for the pepole but they forget there is a community that suffers 24 hrs a day 7 days a week 365 days a year from constant noise, dust ,vibration from shots , lose of value to propertyies but this mob dont care. This new planning system the chis harcher has brouth in is so one sided i think the deal allready done as he sat on the side of roi tinto in all the court hearings not much in the way of fairness towars the bulga community as a hole.

I have been employed with Coal and Allied for three years and I also live quite close to our mine. I moved here with my family because I believe the Valley is a lovely place to bring up my children. I cant bare the thought of loosing my job with Coal and Allied as I have invested heavily in the local area with two homes one being an investment property. Many of my colleagues have also invested in the local area.

The current and future extension we are all counting on will have a major impact to the whole community. Many families and businesses will suffer a great deal if the extensions aren't approved. Please let this to go ahead and don't allow the dreams of many to be shattered.

i believe the extension should go ahead as it is good for the community and allows me to provide for my family. The mine provides millions into the surrounding communities and also provides employment for many businesses throughout the region.

I support the Warkworth extension as I have a young family and without my job we wouldn't be able to make house payments, pay bills etc. Jobs in my position seem to be becoming more rare, and if the mine was to not get the extension, there could be potentially an influx of people without jobs, putting many people in my position regarding house payments and taking care of their families, and also making it harder to get any other jobs which may come up.

I think it would have a major impact on the local businesses and all companies associated with the mine, far greater than those who are affected by the extension.

Thankyou.

I would like to give my support to the Mt Thorley Warkworth extention. As an employ at this site my job will be in danger if the site is restricted to the current coal availability. This will not only affect me but all other employees and contracters the work and suply to the site.
thankyou

I support Coal & Allied's Warkworth Modification application to gain access to an additional 350m of land owned by the mine, to avoid a significant drop in production and employment.
l have been working at MTW for five and halve years now and would like continue working here for many years to come, working as a plant mechanic. The crew that l work with are like my family l wouldnt like to see us all affected.
Mount Thorley Warkworth provides a stable income for over 1,300 full time employees in the Hunter Valley. And the operation of the mine reaches into many other businesses that supply MTW. Thousands of people depend on this mine and if production was to drop, the result could be devastating.

We need certainty. We've been wondering what the future holds now for four years. If this minor modification to an existing, 30 year old mine does not get approved, I am worried about what this will mean for local jobs and investment across the NSW mining industry.

Please accept this submission in support of the Warkworth Modification.
