I have a family to support, as well as the wider community and the younger generation. The mine provides millions back into the community, and the flow on effect with other businesses throughout the region.

there are thousands of people that depend on the mine to continue production, not just onsite but also throughout the region, with the flow on effect of other businesses that are supported by the production of the mine. I have a family to support, who rely on my income to survive.

I have a young family to support. The mine supports my local community and we also do our part environmentally. This needs to be approved to let people know in the hunter that jobs and mining are going to move forward.

i think the mine go ahead because of the employment it brings to the valley not only direct but indirect we all respect the environment but we have to be practical. with the restrictions that will be put onto the mine to do the extension I cannot see a problem. especially with all the revenue the mine brings to the area

I am currently employed at Mount Thorley Warkworth and believe my job and many others are in jeopardy if this modification does not proceed. I have been in the Mining industry for over 20 years and will find it difficult to find work in my current job as the industry is in a slowdown and appears to be for some time in the future. I am the sole breadwinner in my family household of 4. I am part of the community in many ways and losing my job and others will have a flow on effect that is difficult to measure. I buy local, money stays in the community. This is a small section of the mine and I don't believe it would impact the community anymore than the current operating mine.

I support the extendsion of the mine. Since joining this industry it has allowed me to support my family of 6 being the only income in our family since my wife was laid off at the start of the year.

My name is Marilyn McGrady i work at Mt Thorley Workworth I have been employed here for the past four yrs we so need this extension not only for each indavidual personaly but also for the beautiful little town of Singleton of where i live.Already the impact of this stalemate of not being able to proceed further in the direction of being able to keep mining for the next few years. businesses in Singleton are closing down and so many homes are sitting empty as more people are leaving and being put off the situation is very dire. My Whole financial future is here at MTW as i only have five years left to work till my retirement i was hoping to finish my time here. We woek with an amazing group of people and i do wish we can have the extension . We have a comradery that words can not explain and really i can't explain it but for first of for myself and second for my team mates we really need this extension .

I have had an opertunity with MTW to start a new career as an operator . I have finished a traineeship throu MTW and now have become an operator which i wish to be in years to come. I have been able to start a family and keep them suppoeted thru this time and wish to keep that going. If MTW life is cut short i feel the future on my behalf is to be more of a battleground with a young family affected not just myself..

I started at MTW 2 years ago after relocating from Sydney. I have long term plans to stay at MTW so I'm currently looking to buy a property up here. The extension going ahead would provide job security so that I can continue to live in the Hunter Valley. If the extension doesn't go ahead its not just the mineworkers that will suffer. Looking around Cessnock, where I'm living, large amounts of business are closing down due to the down turn in the industry.
