I have been working at Mt Thorley Warkworth since March 2012, when I moved to the area to complete my traineeship. Since finishing my traineeship and becoming a full time contractor, I had made plans to purchase property in the area and settle here permanently. However, these plans have since changed, with the uncertainty from week to week of whether I still have a job. I have had to start looking for alternative employment in Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

ive been at mtw for 3 years and the impact of this extension not going through means loss of income by sole provider for my family and would have to move to find new work (out of state)

I have been an employee of Coal And Allied for 2 years, The impact of losing my job will not just affect my employement but also my familys as there employement is based around the mining industry, this would have significant impact on us as we would have to move away from very close family for work, it also impacts the thousands of other people who work in and around Mount Thorley Warkworth

If the extension wasnt to go ahead the flow on effects will be huge, both to the local and wider community. If i was to lose my job at mount thorley warkworth then my entire family(wife and two children) will have to relocate out of the area and possibly interstate and start FIFO work which in itself will have issues with my family unit.

As sole provider for my family i will have to start looking for another job to be able to provide an income to support them.

I wish to add my support to the MTW extension. I have worked for 12 years at MTW. At my age I would find it very difficult to gain employment. Over the 12 years on average I have contributed on average $35k per year in taxes and if i was to be unemployed along with my fellow co-workers this would be a big loss in revenue to the state government. I am still supporting my family and it would severely impact on my family life if I were to be made redundant due to the failure of the extension at MTW.

My partner and I moved to Rutherford three years ago to persue a career in the mining industry! If this approval does not go ahead we are both at high risk of loosing our jobs, we may not just loose our jobs but also loose alot more. Without a job we do not have an income therefore bills wont get paid, house or car loan can not be paid and not to mention putting food on the table! Yes we can apply elsewhere and be forced to restructure, but we risk loosing EVERYTHING we have worked so hard for here in Rutherford! And who knows how long it will take to find new employment!!!! If we loose our job; who will pay our house loan? where will we go if we loose our home?! You buy a house as a young couple and payable to the income you are earning (and dont get me wrong our home is only a below average home loan) but if this extension does not go ahead many jobs will be lost, which means no money ...NO INCOME!

Not only will this impact us directly but also our close friends, family and the community! If we loose our jobs we will be forced to move away most likely to another state, therefore our local community and local shops will also loose out! Shopping centres, grocery stores, local mechanics, butchers, petrol stations, doctors, dentists, vets.....and more jobs will be lost, and most likely higher costs to living in our local communities! I would be here forever if i had to list EVERY single business and company and families this will effect and impact! If there is no approval, there is no work!

There are so many other industries out there that are struggling also but are unable to change or help what is happening in anyway! We have an opportunity to make a change, save our jobs, and keep the workforce running! This approval will affect more then just the mining infrustructure itself.

Without the extension approval mount thorley warkworth will start to slow down its operations in 2014 and jobs will be lost this will have a negtive impact on 1000s of hunter families and businesses. It will effect those working on site like myself but also many smaller business in the industrial estate at mount thorley not to mention small shops in towns like Branxton that thrive on the many miners stopping for food etc on the way to work.
So it is important for so many hunter residents that this extension is approved.

I have been working here at MTW for 2 years. If the mine isn't successful in achieving the extension that has been applied for I will be possibly be looking for another job as I have a mortgage that needs to be paid for and a family to take care of. The mine not gaining an extension will also impact on the community as a lot of business from the mine runs through the town and supports local businesses.

I have worked at MTW for over 2 years and am the sole income earner in my household. Losing my job would effect my family including my two young children. It would effect my ability to pay our mortgage and other obligations. I live in the hunter area and contribute to the community at various levels as does my family. This mines closure would also impact on friends and family who would be effected indirectly.

I have worked at MTW for 2 years. I need the extension to be approved for my job security and a good comfortable lifestyle for my family. I also believe mining greatly benefits the general community by the way of direct and indirect employment. the community also benefits through taxes being spent on schools, hospitals, roads etc.

I live locally at Singleton and have been an employee at Mount Thorly Warkworth for the past 5 years. I am a single parent with two children to support and 2 mortaguages to pay off, with the decline of the extension approval to MTW i would not b able to support my current financial expenditures. Loss of income. The future growth of Singleton, my childrens future and the future of the community relies on the mines in the area, particuarly MTW as it is one of the larger pits in the hunter valley.

Please approve submission. It not only affects the lively hood of the workers here onsite, but also keeps the local suppliers in business which in turn helps promote a healthy environment for the community.

I support Coal & Allied's Warkworth Modification application to gain access to an additional 350m of land owned by the mine, to avoid a significant drop in production and employment.
I have worked at Mount Thorley Warkworth for the past 8 and a half years as an operator and depend on this application to be approved to provide certainty for employment in the future. I have recently became a father for the first time and rely on my job to support my family and provide a roof over their head.
I have several family members that are employed by businessess that will also be effected by a downsize at Mount Thorley Warkworth which could result in them also loosing their jobs.
I was born and bred in Singleton before moving to Thornton 5yrs ago and I know this application will have a huge negative impact on the whole Singleton community if it is not approved.

I would like to support the MTW modification submission. This expansion will sustain the employment of 1300 employee's and numerous other sub-contracting companies that rely on the extension being approved.
It will also allow this Mine to continue injecting large amounts of money through taxes and coal royalties into the coffers of all levels of government.
