The Byron Parklands is a world class venue that brings enormous cultural, and greatly needed economic benefits to the local economy. The positive outcomes of the festivals by far out way the negatives. With careful consultation the festival organisers are more than willing to make any necessary changes for safety and minimising the impact on the local environment.

I believe that due the fantastic effort from North Byron Parklands team that the Arts & Cultures events finally call the space it's permanent home!

I've been to both events a few times and I believe they've done a fantastic job to improve traffic, sound and community amenities along the way.

It's a great area to host such events and as long as Parklands keep continuing to do what they are doing I see it fit to be the permanent home!

These festivals in NO way benefit Byron Bay. Quite the Opposite. They are promoting an image that is NOT the image of Byron Bay or the image that Byron Bay promotes. They do NOT reflect our lifestyle, attitudes or culture. They are MASS MARKETING personified ... they are solely aimed at selling Alcohol as there is little else to do at this site, & who has the biggest tents - none other than Smirnoff, Carlton & Redbull etc (corporations). No one is raving about the music or festival only about the Mud & Mud Slide - so if it doesn't rain then there is no fun to be had what so ever. The image they portray is that of the Gold Coast which is the complete opposite of what Byron Bay represents (which is the Alternative). The noise & increased occupation of streets etc the adjacent suburbs experience during these times are excessive & have led to an increase in crime. The Environmental Impacts are without question. These festivals don't even employ LOCALS. They are interstate ie Gold Coast & Brisbane companies who hire & bring their own staff with them thus LOCALS are lucky to get the bar & cleaning work - but definitely get to work the crappiest hours. Therefore I strongly urge you to say NO to expanding or extending this festival site.

I am writing in support of the Parklands application to become a permanent cultural events site.
I am part owner of a small family business which operates nearest to the Parklands site. In the time that we have owned the business we have experienced two festivals, Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival. On both occasions the support from the Parklands staff has been excellent. We have been provided with relevant and helpful information, signage and extra bins. The Parklands representative visits us regularly before, during and after the festival and any issues we raised (although very minor) were immediately acted upon by Parklands staff.
At no time during either festival did we have any negative experience with festival goers. At all times they have been polite and considerate patrons.
We are open 7 days a week, all year round (expect for selected Public Holidays) and offer a service that the local residents both rely on and are grateful for. In reality, it is the extra income brought in during festival times the makes the business profitable and therefore allows us to continually offer such a high service to locals on a continuing basis.
We hope that Parklands is successful in its bid for a permanent cultural festival site.

Falls Music & Arts Festival and Splendour in the Grass are world class events run by local promotors that bring significant economic and cultural benefits and employment opportunities to the Northern Rivers community, as well as bringing joy to thousands of our music-loving children. The North Byron Parklands management team is local and they have done a huge amount of work regenerating the site. They are responsive to the local community and always try to find balance with a diverse range of voices and concerns.

Parklands should be kept as a music and arts ground because it brings so much work and money to the state, people come from far and wide to spend there money in this region.
It also brings together some of the best artists in thw world to australia who would never play here if it wasnt for this venues
Dont let this be a mistake of not keeping this as a music and arts play ground for everyone

As a more mature attendee of splendour festival l love to see the amount of employment it encourages to the area and the community spirit it brings. Never have a seen a major problem with the festival or people who attend. Very well run. Also like the environmental aspects that they are careful to implement.

I support North Byron Parkland's. If events cannot take place at North Byron Parklands, my income and livelihood will be seriously impacted as will many others living in the surrounding areas.

Please grant Byron Parklands the approval to be the permanent home of Splendour, Falls and any other suitable Arts and Culture events for this region.
Both events support many Australian music artists, give locals 2 fantastic music festivals each year, provides jobs for locals, and support numerous local business' by bringing in many festival goers. Parklands organisation and support for the local community is second to none. Without their generosity of prizes our school raffles would raise much less than they do! They have worked extremely hard to improve the events over the years, and continue to provide unforgettable experiences for those lucky enough to attend. They deserve this, and we living in the Byron Shire are so fortunate to have such fantastic festivals on our doorstep twice a year. Please do us all a favour and make this permanent.

Byron Parklands should be given a permanent license to hold Falls and Splendour. They add to the local community by bringing in so many tourists to the events - everyone is a winner. And we're so fortunate to be able to attend these as locals, instead of having to travel to a city for such incredible festivals. I fully support this permanent approval.

I am a Flinders Way resident which backs onto bushland that can be accessed to the north byron parklands site through maintained Fire trails.
More frequently festival goers are attempting to access the site for free by entering the bushland from Flinders way, parking their cars on the footpath, urinating and leaving rubbish and disturbing residents when they return.
Also concerned of the fire risk from cigarets or camp fires in this densly overgrown high risk bushland area with increased numbers trying to access the festival for free.
There is not enough signage or security at this access point and is a growing problem and with more numbers proposed this needs to be addressed for sake of respect of the residents, fire safety , sanitary concerns and illegal camping.

To Whom it may concern,

I very much support the Parklands being the permanent home of music, cultural & arts events. It is a great venue and the owners are extremely dedicated to preserving the lands and wildlife there and managing the environmental impact and are doing a great job at it! Well done
