I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because it’s ridiculous that the state and federal government doesn’t give a rat’s arse About Australia’s heritage, our animals and nature. It’s embarrassing and heartbreaking. I hate the leaders of this country.

I strongly object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because.. we have lost so much of our heritage over the last 50 years
that we are running out of things to pass onto future generations. All these new glass and metal monstrosities that are
being built these days will not last long enough for future generations to see. We need our heritage buildings to tell the
story of Parramatta, the second settlement in the new colony. Willow Grove was once used as a hospital and many of
the old identities of Parramatta were born there.

Geoff Lee was interviewed on radio recently and stated that there were hundreds of buildings like Willow Grove
around so this one can go. None of the hundreds of buildings like Willow Grove are in Parramatta so aren't we
entitled to keep ours.

There is another place in Parramatta that would be more suited to the Powerhouse and that is the old golf
course and the museum would be seen from the train as it goes towards the mountains. Surely people are going to
want to visit it once they have seen it and wondered what it would be like. Tucked away behind the shopping centre,
which is the dead end of the centre, people will not know it is there.

I have lived in the Parramatta area for 72 years and research its history for the last 30 and am fascinated by the depth of it.
It is very disappointing when someone comes into our city and rubs out something so precious

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because this is an appalling decision. To demolish Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace is an act of beauratic barbarism. To even consider moving the Museum is also a mistake . Although this decision has been reversed the proposed Parramatta Museum is still on the go ahead.

Other countries manage to develop sites and incorporate items of historical worth in their design. Why cannot we follow suit. The preservation of the buildings should have been part of the brief to the designers. Why wasn’t it done. It is not too late to redo the submissions and to incorporate these buildings into the brief. Heritage items are an acknowledgement to our past and our history.

I cannot believe that the government is being so blinded by ‘building’ at any cost.

Save Willow Grove and St. Georges Terrace

I make no donations to any political party and I don’t want my name published.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace are one of a kind in the Parramatta CBD and their lose would have a significant impact on the community's connection with heritage.
I cannot believe it is in the best interests of the community to destroy irreplaceable historic buildings and replace them with a building that appears to now have no use, as the Powerhouse in Ultimo is remaining in Ultimo.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because I am tired having to defend our built heritage.

We have simply destroyed too much of our history. Sydney was once the most glorious example of Victorian Heritage in the British Empire, but since the 1960s we have torn it asunder. Enough!

We have no 19th century theatres left in the city: The Palace, The Tivoli, Her Majesty's, The Regent, Theatre Royal have all gone - albeit the Theatre Royal rebuilt upon the demolition of the Hotel Australia. And on that point, our two grandest 19th century hotels: The Australia and the Metropole - gone. Can you imagine London pulling down the Savoy, the Ritz or Claridges?

It is death by a thousand cuts and it must stop. There are plenty of alternative sites for museums and the like - old industrial estates etc. Find somewhere else for your Powerhouse Museum - or better yet, leave it where it is.

Leave Willow Grove alone.

I strongly object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because as someone located in Queensland, we have seen the devastation of what happens to heritage and culture when heritage buildings are torn down.

We need to preserve what is already there as our heritage buildings will never exist again and find development alternatives!!! It is a travesty that your government can avert. BE THAT GOVERNMENT.

Thank you

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because. Our history is very important to all. I am a 5th generation Australian and my family came out in 1792 as convicts on the second fleet and I truly believe that our historic buildings are very important to keep. The powerhouse museum is to house historic items. So why are we even considering pulling down our historic buildings.

At present Parramatta has a nice mixture of new and old and I honestly think it is a fabulous city.. We can't afford to lose any more of our history, Keep Parramatta unique for our next generations to enjoy.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace are one of a kind in the Parramatta CBD and their loss would have a significant impact on the community's connection with heritage. Any use or development of the site must incorporate these buildings in a sympathetic way.
Ideally I think this site should become a public space along the river and consideration should be given to creating a brilliant Museum and cultural destination at historic Cumberland Hospital Precinct in North Parramatta.

I declare that I have not made any reportable political donations to any political party.

I object to the demolition of Willow Grove & the St Georges Terrace Buildings for the purpose of continuing with the Powerhouse Parramatta project because..

We have to few of our heritage buildings left throughout Australia & with Parramatta's place in our history I would have thought the State Government

would have wanted to do everything in it's power to preserve what we have left.

Either change the plans so they include these buildings as part of the museum.

Move the Museum to another part of Parramatta. Toward the University & the heritage buildings there.

Maybe the Museum could become part of Parramatta Gaol. Built inside the walls with parts of the Gaol as part of the Museum.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because.. Parramatta has a
significant role in the history of Settlement in Sydney and Willow Grove
is part of our history. It would be sheer vandalism to demolish these
buildings. But then the State Government are nothing but vandals anyway.
Parramatta deserves a museum but not at the expense of losing our
history. SAVE Willow Grove and build a museum elsewhere!

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because..Parramatta needs to keep its heritage building for future generations to observe, enjoy and learn from their history.

Our future generations need to understand the importance of the colony's second settlement which was led by Governor Arthur Philip and appreciate how our country grew from the early settlements.

I agree that Parramatta and the people of the west deserve more museums however, not at the expense of our heritage.

PLEASE DO NOT DESTROY OUR HISTORY

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because it is unthinkable that precious heritage buildings such as Willow Grove and St. Georges Terrace be destroyed. They cannot be replaced. Exquisite buildings lost for ever and it need not happen. Go with the Three Point Plan - a wonderful solution for the people of Parramatta and beyond.

I have not made any reportable political donations.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project as currently because it demolishes the historic and beautiful Willow Grove.

I heard the minister on air this week talking about a new approach to development planning where you take account of, and respect, the historical aspects of the place. By doing so new developments take in a more interesting and distinctive character rooted in, and arising from, their particular place. What better approach to the development of the new powerhouse at parramatta - build the new whilst making a feature of the historic features.

Please reconsider your approach and incorporate the historic assets including Willow Grove into the design for a more unique and interesting solution. Parramatta deserves no less and future generations will thank you for it, as has been proven by saving the QVB, Macquarie Street Sydney etc.

Please note I am not affiliated, nor a donor to any political party. Just an ordinary citizen of Greater Western Sydney (postcode 2774).

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project.
This is an historic area that has seen some of our most uniques history.
Please reconsider the destruction of WillowGrove and incorporate this original and fascinating part of our history.
If treated with respect this building and the surrounding areas could become a world class heritage tourist destination.
It could be an embodies experience for school children thought Australia.
Listen to the people and historic bodies in this instance.
Be Visionary.
Future generations will love you for it.
Thanking you in advance

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project.

Firstly I abhor the idea of demolishing the heritage buildings of Willow Grove and St George’s Terraces. I am saddened that we have lost so much of our heritage already in the CBD and Parramatta. If we lose that history our built environment becomes soulless and uninviting.

I would much prefer that the area on the river become parkland and walkway allowing people to enjoy recreation in a green space.

A great site for a new museum would be in the grounds of Cumberland Hospital. A site that is built up from the river and therefore not prone to the flooding problems that the currently proposed site has.

I hope this submission is given due consideration

I object very passionately to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because..

I believe we all have a responsibility to protect our heritage for all Australians, old and especially the young and future humans of our Country.

I am so sad and disappointed by so called "leaders" who do NOT listen to their constituents or even care.

Why are we destroying heritage and not utilising those glorious buildings which were made and run with blood, sweet and tears by history makers..??

All other countries are protecting their heritage for future generations but Not Australia, we (not the public, so called leaders) seem to care more about money... 😢 and building more units and buildings that look so ugly.

** Use these beautiful buildings and others in Parramatta to enrich the heritage and let the people of Sydney (NSW) and overseas visitors enjoy and learn about our great history **

We have already lost heritage pieces in Sydney through wanton self centred wants...

Plus, we have lost century old Moreton Bay Fig Trees as well that Parramatta loved and we needed for the shade factor as well as to cut down heat, disgusting and very sad.

What is the use to pull down beautiful heritage pieces to place bits in a Museum ??? Unbelievable.

* Save historic Willow Grove & St Georges Terraces, and realise the existing Parramatta Council vision for a public square alongside the river.

* Create a brilliant Museum and cultural destination at historic Cumberland Hospital Precinct in North Parramatta.

* Keep the Powerhouse Museum at Ultimo

I want my grand children, future great grand children etc etc etc for 1000's of years to come..

PLEASE, PLEASE have some heart and common sense to stop this travesty...

We need you to listen to us, to the constituents of Parramatta who actually live here and LOVE our AREA and HERITAGE..

Thank you for taking the time to read our concerns, wants and wishes and look forward to your sensible decision to save our heritage for everyone..
