Malek Fahd Islamic School Expansion

I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed expansion project at Malek Fahd. As a father of 1 children and an advocate for the future of our children, I believe that this expansion is not only necessary but vital for the continued growth and success of both the school and the surrounding area.

Our community has undeniably experienced significant growth in recent years, and with that growth comes the need for expanded educational resources. Malek Fahd has consistently demonstrated its commitment to providing high-quality education, but it is becoming increasingly clear that the existing facilities are no longer sufficient to meet the needs of our growing student population.
The proposed expansion would provide additional classrooms, updated facilities, and enhanced learning spaces, which are critical for the continued academic success of our children.

The expansion will not only benefit students but also provide economic and social advantages to the community. With an expanded facility, the school will be able to offer more programs, extracurricular activities, and support services, which will better prepare our students for success in higher education and the workforce. Additionally, this project will create jobs and contribute to the local economy through construction and subsequent operations on the short term.

I have seen similar schools such as the Anglican College applying similar expansions to cater for increased students without experiencing intimidation from the community members, that’s why I believe Malek Fahd is entitled to the same treatment from the Hills Shire Council.

I urge you to support this important expansion project. It is an opportunity for us to provide our children with the resources they need to succeed while ensuring that Malek Fahd remains a cornerstone of our community for years to come.

The school is serving a growing number of students and needs new facilities and buildings to accommodate them. Expanding the school will provide a better learning environment, improve access to essential resources, and support both academic and extracurricular activities. Investing in new construction ensures that students have the space and tools they need to succeed, fostering a brighter future for our community.

I am writing to formally object to the proposed expansion of Malek Fahd Islamic school on the grounds that the current local infrastructure, particularly road access and transport facilities, is inadequate to support the increased student population. Mungerie rd is single lane, without curb and guttering, Withers Rd and Commerical Rd are also single lane. Local residents who are zoned in a specific public school region will be impacted from residents from all over Sydney accessing a private school.

The proposed development will place significant pressure on the existing road network, leading to congestion, safety risks, and restricted access for local residents. Many families in the area rely on these roads for daily commutes, including access to other local public schools. Without substantial upgrades to the surrounding infrastructure, the expansion will negatively impact traffic flow and pedestrian safety, particularly during peak school hours.

Additionally, the increased demand for parking and drop-off areas could exacerbate existing traffic bottlenecks, causing frustration and delays for both residents and school communities. The lack of sufficient planning for additional roads, public transport options, and pedestrian pathways raises concerns about the project's sustainability and its impact on the local community.

I urge the Department of Planning to reconsider the approval of this expansion until a comprehensive infrastructure plan is developed and implemented to ensure minimal disruption to residents and adequate access to local schools. The Hills Shire council has expanded in the last 20 years, the same level of zeal has not been placed into planning adequate infrastructure to ensure residents and the broader community can access the Hills.

Such a project allows to increase the opportunity of enrolling my kids in a school of our choice and reduces the pressure on the public school. The school expansion would serve the increased number of students in this area who wants to join this type of schools.

We really need the extension due to the growing muslim community in the Hills area, lots of our children can't find a seat in the school due to limited spaces.

I have three children at the school. The school has a waiting list and huge potential to serve the growing population in the hills area.

this project is very important and will help the growing population in the area providing better school opportunities specially with the bad Rouse Hill Public High School being the only option if you're not Christian.

Our precious community is a low density residential area. Building 2-3 storeys in the premise is not allowed. Its too close proximity to ours and neighbours perimeter walls hence invading our privacy. This will encourage more students and with that alone will congest our streets and cause lots of traffic and create lots of noise during the week esp with the propose prayer hall or mosque all throughout the week. Therefore, I utterly object the project!

I support the expansion of Malek Fahd Islamic school, the school not only provide proper education services to muslim community but also it supports Australian community through different activities through the year including Homeless food event and many more, school had vital rule in building my kids character to participate positively in Australian community.

The school is in bad need for this expansion, my son had to stay on the waiting list for 3 years till he was enrolled last year.

I have another comment on missing a footpath that lead from footpath along Mungerie Road to the school. I have raised this request to the school but haven't received any feedback.

This project is definitely a must have and would benefit the community, the area, and NSW in general. There is very high demand for Islamic schools in the area due to the community growing in a very high pace. Having this school would attract more services to the area. In addition to that, this would lower demand on public schools in the area which already stretched to their limits (I know as I tried to enrol my daughter to Rouse Hill Public school and Ironbark Ridge and I could not).

I support this project and I hope it gets approval asap.
