District, I have and do cherish our history and the destruction of Willow Grove and St George’s Terrace is totally unacceptable. I believe the new museum should be the centre of the Cumberland Hospital precinct. More appropriate for our cultural development. I find the potential loss of Willow Grove and St George’s Terrace quite distressing.

2. Location is inappropriate !
3. Heritage can be Demolished to achieve this, no great loss !
Accordingly my email is to highlight my strong disagreement to what being proposed !
The State Government should come to its senses, relocate the Parramatta Powerhouse Museum to an appropriate location !

Heritage is of great importance to tourism and must be preserved.
Parramatta deserves an exciting new gallery/ museum that reflects Parramatta’s important history, not a poor shadow of an existing museum in Sydney.
I have not made any political donations.

Many of the exhibits are precious and may not survive the transportation or I believe may not even fit - for example the huge traction engine. These sorts of things should be on display for school kids to look on in wonder, just like I did back in the day.
As for the proposed demolition of heritage listed buildings in Paramatta, everyone should hang their head in shame. We've done enough destruction of our history of late in the name of "progress", so maybe leave Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace alone. That way history won't judge us quite as the vandals we have become.
Thanks for your time,
Please do not publish my name with the submission.
I have not made any political donations.

I write to voice my opposition to the demolition of the 2 heritage
listed properties: St George Terrace and Willow Grove both built in the
1880s.
The destruction of these impressive buildings the local community,
Council and many other Sydney-siders want to preserve is vandalism.
Tax payers money has been wasted on so many aspects of this project.
Adding the destruction of these buildings would be the final act of
vandalism.
The fact that the NSW Government originally wanted to sell the original
Powerhouse site to developers, the refusal of parties to acknowledge the
potential of flooding of the site and the fact that so much of the
taxpayers money has been squandered on the plans for the site is enough
reason for the government to loose the next election.
I urge the government and panel to reconsider and listen to the opinion
of fellow residents.
THERE IS NO SHAME IN ADMITTING YOU ARE WRONG.

I wish to object to having the Powerhouse Museum built over Willow Grove and the St Georges Terraces
I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because it is important to preserve Willow Grove and the St Georges Terraces area. They have a unique and special historical significance for the Parramatta community that can never be replaced nor duplicated. That heritage must be preserved intact and with respect.

The Powerhouse can be built on another area that doesn't destroy our wonderful and rare heritage sites.
Hoping that you will listen to the people instead of ignoring us. We need to preserve these irreplacable buildings.

I am a mere Pommie who has family in W.A. I get over as often as I can and as a tourist I want to see your history, visit historical buildings embrace your heritage
I know how important tourism is to Australia so I genuinely believe you need to treasure your heritage not destroy or replace it with modern architecture even if the building is extended in a similar style becomes part of a modern building - having it as an internal feature you and those in power need to look at the bigger picture and the longer term situation.
We have Freo prison, the Round House, Busselton jetty in WA all interesting “old” architecture which brings lots of visitors and dollars
May be by saving your buildings you can achieve the same. We have Silo Trails why not heritage trails ?
Please seriously think about my points
Thank you for your time. Geraldine Todd
