I strongly urge the NSW Government to
✅1. Keep the Powerhouse Museum at Ultimo
✅ 2. Create a brilliant Museum and cultural destination at historic Cumberland Hospital Precinct in North Parramatta.
✅3. Save historic Willow Grove & St Georges Terraces, and realise the existing Parramatta Council vision for a public square alongside the river

Surely these buildings should be kept as part of the museum.
Also how can buildings with heritage listings be demolished at all???
These buildings should be conserved for future generations. Enough of our heritage has already been destroyed.
Leave these buildings standing.

I am so sick of this state bull dozing our Heritage listed sites.
Not long ago the historic area around Windsor bridge was demolished to build a useless bridge which won't even cope with the demands of peak hour traffic.
Please-
Keep the Powerhouse Museum at Ultimo

Parramatta is known for it's heritage sites. Parramatta holds an important place in our history. These buildings must be supported not destroyed. Their value cannot be over emphasised.
These poor decisions will be regretted forever. The irony of destroying heritage buildings that will be replaced to house our heritage history. Madness!

We have already lost the Royal Oak Hotel - why would you demolish these 2 other beautiful heritage buildings.?
These 2 buildings show the history of where we've been , the history of Willow grove is in line with the history of the other beautiful buildings in Parramatta. I want my children to be able to see these buildings as they grow up and show their children ! We have done tours around historical Parramatta and this is part of history. The local schools take the children to these buildings.
Why can't you build the Powerhouse museum next to Bankwest stadium near the Cumberland hospital precinct in North Parramatta?
You're going to knock over these buildings to build a museum with artefacts of history ? The irony .
Leave the buildings as they are .
Fix the river area up so we can enjoy what we always have , the river , festivals , restaurants.
Otherwise move Willow grove to Parramatta park - there is room there to rebuild it.
Please don't demolish these beautiful buildings..
These buildings are one of a kind in Parramatta CBD , we will all lose the significant impact of our heritage if they are removed.
Please consider my letter.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because.. To give Parramatta a museum you are destroying our heritage that we love so dearly. Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace are our museums and we want our grandchildren to be able to see them and not as a picture in a book either. My sister and I were born at Willow Grove so we have a sentimental reason to wanting it to survive the slaughter and destruction by the decisions of the Liberal Govt. These places are part of the foundation and making of Parramatta. . I have memories of many sandstone building in George and Phillip Streets from the 1940s. Imagine if they were still standing today.
I ask the premier to reconsider her decision and her broken election promise and save these buildings. Thank you

My ancestor William Sharp came to Parramatta in 1792 as a military officer guarding convicts. He established a farm at Parramatta. He married a convict & they had 6 children.
The Fleet Street /Cumberland Hospital site would be a better place for a museum & arts centre not residential units.
My family would hate to see anymore heritage destroyed. We still live near Parramatta, after stints being farmers in south west NSW.
I do not donate to any political party but this would sway my vote next election.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because..I know the river. If FLOODS
I worked for a Paper Conservator for 40 years. I have seen galleries on flood plains flood. It will cost you a fortune!
I was a migrant child living on Granville. I went to Saturday school at Parramatta. It is history! It is SO important Tony Robinson of the BBC made an episode on the history!!!
Leave the museum alone and do not bulldoze a last legacy to white history!!!
It’s a no brainer!!!
Yours sincerely

The only power I have is to vote out of office those political parties who espouse such policies.
If Gladys pursues this policy I will vote against the Liberal candidate at the next State election.
As said, I’m fed up. The Dept of Planning should be renamed the Dept of wanton destruction.

Australia has so little historic, old (and quaint) structures that we must preserve every bit we can.
Please implore the government to consider developments that save Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because vandalism of our historic buildings and heritage must cease. I applaud the decision to keep the Harris Street Powerhouse, which is simply common sense. However to demolish heritage buildings at Parramatta and build an atrociously ugly modern plastic Parthenon is madness. You do not need to demolish those old buildings, but simply add the required redesigned museum around them. You keep the two old buildings, with some renovation, and showcase them just like they have done recently in Perth. Have a look at the Perth museum, and follow their intelligent lead.

The design you have earmarked for the new powerhouse is manifestly inadequate.
Leave the Powerhouse where it is. We don't need more apartments and shops. Our cultural life is practically bankrupt in this country as it is.
Leave Willow Grove alone. We need to preserve what little history we have.
By all means have another museum at Parramatta- it's a great idea, but pick another site.
History will judge you harshly for the actions you are taking here.

Please reconsider this proposed vandalizing of our rare heritage homes - it's not as if we have an overwhelming number of the examples that are these beautiful heritage homes.
Surely it would be a fitting memorial to be remembered as a government that did really listen to the voters- thank you.
