On 22 June 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Warkworth Mining Ltd (WML) for exceeded noise impact assessment criteria at three noise monitoring locations for the Warkworth Continuation Project on 20 July 2022. WML had failed to implement their approved Noise Management Plan on the night of 20 July 2022 in the lead up to the exceedances. WML have since implemented measures to ensure compliance with their management plan and NSW Planningcontinues to monitor WML's noise reporting data and implementation of the NMP.

* I believe that MTW will use the land efficiently and reinstate the land back to usfull agricultral land because at present the land does not have very productive pasture.
* Part of Coal & Allied's strength is that we operate three mining complexes in close proximity. The loss of one site makes it that much harder for the other two to operate efficiently.
* An overwhelming concern for the welfare of the 1300 employees, plus the many suppliers , that rely on MTW for their livelihood

The hunter area is experiencing a very low slump and job loses are well out numbering employment.
I have worked as a contractor at Warkworth some years ago and have seen the lengths the mine has gone to to support its local community and to run the mine above all standards and regulations.

My children attend local childcare facilities, we are active users of local services such as swim, gym and tennis courts, we shop locally, go to the cinemas and eat out or get takeaway often (too often). Without my wifes role these things become extras that we couldn't afford on top of a locally spent debt. This will make all these businesses less vaible.
The local businesses will be much less viable with 1300 similar stories.

The local sporting clubs rely on companies like MTW to for sponsorship, ensuring the kids have a safe environment in which to enjoy their junior sporting careers. A loss of those support will be devastating for all involved.
