On 22 June 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Warkworth Mining Ltd (WML) for exceeded noise impact assessment criteria at three noise monitoring locations for the Warkworth Continuation Project on 20 July 2022. WML had failed to implement their approved Noise Management Plan on the night of 20 July 2022 in the lead up to the exceedances. WML have since implemented measures to ensure compliance with their management plan and NSW Planningcontinues to monitor WML's noise reporting data and implementation of the NMP.

We cannot see 1300 local colleagues from around the Hunter be removed from their jobs as the PIT has been operation since 1981. So many family and friends will be affected and it would be a complete devastation to all those who are in the firing line.
I understand the environmental rules and regulations towards developing in areas where communities maybe affected.
However, we need to consider the real issues of this planning proposal. How can we feed our children, and other family members. We will litterally be affecting many lives.
In conclusion, it is very paramount that we ensure the approval of the Mount Thorley Warkworth Planning Proposal as we owe it to our families and communities afar to help fellow australian workers. Lets compromise with the hard pressing facts of environment and community impacts and ensure MTW last further into the future.

Coal Mining and Mount Thorley Warkworth is a key part of Hunter and without approval will truly put a significant number of Jobs at risk, both those directly involved in mining operations and the site but also those indirectly involved in the Hunter region.
Mount Thorley Warkworth is also critical part of Rio Tinto Coal Australia, it shares management and fixed costs with other Rio Tinto Coal Australia sites and without its continued inclusion other operations and a significant number of jobs are put at risk too.
I fully support the application.

I have many friends and family that work their and without MTW Im not sure what they would do but one thing is for sure it would have a negeitve impact if they were to reduce production or worst still close the Mine down.
Please consider very carefully all the possitive contributions Coal and Allied make to the region and beyond.
