On 22 June 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Warkworth Mining Ltd (WML) for exceeded noise impact assessment criteria at three noise monitoring locations for the Warkworth Continuation Project on 20 July 2022. WML had failed to implement their approved Noise Management Plan on the night of 20 July 2022 in the lead up to the exceedances. WML have since implemented measures to ensure compliance with their management plan and NSW Planningcontinues to monitor WML's noise reporting data and implementation of the NMP.

The environment of the Hunter Valley cannot sustain further expansion of this mine.

It is vital for my career that Mt Thorley Warkworth extension gets the approval so I can achieve my career goals as becoming and OCE. Mt Thorley Warkworth has the career path for me in a safe environment.
The community and many families would suffer if the approval was not given, giving that our wages are being put back into the community and many local business would suffer too.
I strongly support the extension of Mt Thorley Warkworth and I hope you do too!

Through providing this workplace and supporting local hunter valley events, such as the Winery Running Festival MTW has become an integral part of the community.
Should the continuation not be approved, 1300 dedicated people will loose their jobs and a signifi part of tbe community will suffer. This will come to those who work for supporting businesses and to the wider community as many of the local events will no longer be viable.
I believe that the continuation should be approved to allow the mine to continue to support the hundreds of families of those employed at the mine, but also to ensure a continued thriving hunter valley.

MTW not only supports local upper hunter business, it also impacts Maitland, Newcastle and Port Stephens.
There have already been too many jobs lost.
My family and the families of the 1300 workers at MTW rely on this.

We the family's that work at warkworth need this extension to be approved so we can continue to raise our family's in the area, we are very much prepared to work with consideration to our neighbours in reducing noise and dust by working within a management plan so that we can co exist.. Warkworth mine has such a prosperous future for the whole hunter and the many people that live there..

Inlet rd BULGA
I would like to have my objection listed for the current proposal for the extension of Mt Thorley Warkworth. If this proposal is approved it will be the death knell for the village of Bulga, and the residents. The devastating impact on health for the residents will make it impossible to live in a healthy environment. The overall treatment of the residents by the New South Wales government in this matter and others which favour mining above people has been outrageous. The Governments role is to Govern, as you are nothing more than elected public servants, not dictate preferences that favour big business over local residents. The unmitigated favouritism to the Mining industry by this current government, is one of the reasons the previous government was voted out. Rest assured yours will most certainly be the same fate, unless the local resident concerns and worries are addressed . Peoples homes are there castles and deserve far more respect than what this government has shown.

I am certain that my future with Rio Tinto will end if the Continuation for Warkworth is not granted. This will be a huge dissappointment to me as I am proud to work for Rio Tinto. I will also need to move my wife and childen away from extended family and the Hunter Valley / Newcastle region to find employment.
