On 22 June 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Warkworth Mining Ltd (WML) for exceeded noise impact assessment criteria at three noise monitoring locations for the Warkworth Continuation Project on 20 July 2022. WML had failed to implement their approved Noise Management Plan on the night of 20 July 2022 in the lead up to the exceedances. WML have since implemented measures to ensure compliance with their management plan and NSW Planningcontinues to monitor WML's noise reporting data and implementation of the NMP.

Please allow MTW submission to get the green light, I don't want to see any more families succumb to the pressure of no job. Please understand the dilemma, thanks

You will also be putting hardship on all the businesses in the area and also all around Australia that support this site. Also there are many more people that 'work' for this minesite that you don't see and that don't work in NSW. I support this business from my office in Brisbane.

My daughter goes to swimming lessons. The majority of the kids she swims with are children of coal miners. Without their parents income those children wouldn't be able to attend swimming lessons, the small business owner who runs the pool would lose the majority of his business and the owner of the building leased for the pool would lose their tenant.
This is just one example of the flow on effects this approval not being granted will have on the greater Hunter community.
This goes way beyond the 1300 direct jobs, and the mining associated businesses in The Valley. If MTW can not continue, neither can the Hunter Valley continue as we know it.

It will keep jobs in the hunter - which are at an all time premium due to the mass exodus of industry from the area.
The jobs are not only for the full time employees of the company but also the multitude of contract employees and specialist consultants from all over the country and internationally as well.
The wages of employees and contractors are fed back through the consumer market - supporting a huge range of local business'. The flow on affect of rejection of the proposal and closure of the mines will be devastating on the local economy. Following the closure of other local industries and scaling back of operations, the economic prospects in the hunter become grimmer again.
I believe the approval of the proposal is vital to the economic stability of the region for the near to mid range future.

We are at the moment experiencing extremely difficult times with many already unemployed. The towns of Singleton and Muswellbrook will not survive without the continuation of mining. There have already been many business closures.
